I opened my eyes, squinting at the sudden bright lights. The pain had gone down a bit.
"What... Where am I?" I asked, my voice slow. "Mikan, he's awake! Get over here!" Hm? Why is Kyoudai here? There's a loud sound, as if something fell over while Mikan came over to me. "H-he is! Good e-evening, Kiyotaka!" She says to me. I don't process it for a minute. "Oh. Hello. Where am I? Also, what do you mean by 'evening'?" I inquire, sitting up.
"You're in the infirmary, bro. You... Passed out in the hallway. Ya slept through the whole day." As Mondo said that, my eyes widened. "Y-you mean I missed class?!" I almost yelled, furious with myself. "Y-yes... H-he brought y-you here, a-and I examined you... T-Taka, I n-need you to t-tell us something." Crap. She found out.
"What is it, Mikan?" I said, sounding oblivious. "W-well, when I w-was examining you, I f-found that you're
e-exceptionally pale, a-and there were b-blood and f-flower petals in your mouth.." I knew it."Well... Uhm..." I stuttered out, knowing it was already too late. "Bro... Do you have the Hanahaki disease?" Mondo asked, catching me off guard,
making my chest tighten, the pain worsening.I didn't answer for some time, making both of their expressions darken. "I... Yes." I answered, my voice soft and sad. Then, something I didn't expect happened.
Kyoudai... Just leaned over and hugged me. "M-Mondo..." I stuttered out, trying to ignore how much he seemed to be... Shaking.. It concerned me.
After a couple of minutes, he let go and just patted my head. "Eat something, bro. Please. Don't need ya passin' out on me again." Mikan nodded in agreement. Mondo stood up, about to leave.
"Kyoudai... Don't worry about me too much, okay?" I said, smiling. He flashed me a bright grin and left. "W-well, you c-can leave as well n-now.. I-I've done everything I c-can." I stood up, thanking her. Before I left, I gave her a hug, knowing that she wasn't treated the best.
I didn't end up eating. I met with Chihiro to talk about... Everything happening. He had told me his secret, so I thought that I should tell him mine.
I knocked on the door and stood patiently. "Who- Oh, hey Taka!" The small voice said, letting me in. "Chi, I have to tell you something serious." He nodded. "Alright, what is it?" I sighed as I sat near the foot of his bed.
"I have a disease." His eyes went from their usual happy look to a sad, worried one. "W-which one?!" He asked frantically. "Hanahaki. You've probably heard of it... Please don't tell anyone.." He sat next to me and wrapped his arms as far around me as possible.
"I have.. I'm so sorry, Ishi!" He teared up, making me feel a bit guilty. "It's not your fault, Chi. I just had to get it off my chest," I explained, hugging him back. "If there's anything at all I can do, tell me, please!" He said enthusiastically. "Of course."After that, he decided to lighten the mood and show me a program he was making called 'Alter Ego', a revolutionary A.I. "That's really cool, Chi! I bet you could finish it by Christmas!" He nodded, his cheeks a bit pink from the compliment. "Well, I had fun, but it's getting late, see you tomorrow!" I said, stretching and making my way to the door. "See you, Ishi!"
And with that, I walked to my dorm. Or, at least I thought it was. Opening the door, I choked back a scream.
A/n Cliffhanger again cuz I'm a little bitch, heh. But uh... Write in the comments what you think he saw.
