Chapter 1

It all started on a normal summer day me my sisters and brother were playing in the yard, when a alert came over the national television.

News Alert: This is not a test. Please take shelter there was a missile launch from China to the U.S I repeat this is not a test.

                   Present day 2043
Me: hows everyone holding up. I know this isnt the best shelter to stay but for now it'll work.

My family's POV: it's ok but were low on food and water.

Me: I know we will half to get some from the store in the nearby town. Who's gonna come with me?. I asked

Kayleigh: I will. she said while getting the gear for tomorrow's trip

Hunter: I'll help. he said while getting everything packed

Me: ok we'll head that way in the morning, get some rest.

Me: Hey guys get up let's go. I whispered to them

Hunter: Ok let's go. as he gets up off the ground

Me: Let's head that way are you guys ready. I asked

Both reply: yes

Me: ok lets go. I said to them

Hunter: are we close?. He asked

Me: Probably about five minutes away. I said

Kayleigh: ok we gotta hurry we're about of of water and food for this trip. She said
