Good day, River!

I had a long day today. Today is one of those unexpected days of my life. It was just an ordinary day but as I write you this letter, I felt a huge pang of gratitude inside my heart. I couldn't even think of the right words to fill this sentence out but here I am, sitting on this mono block chair while glancing at my mom—who was then comfortably sitting at her own seat while she's busy doing her hair. I just wanted to appreciate this little moment that I have with her. Now that I'm in enrolled, I know that my time, compared to the previous ones, would be very much limited starting from now on. There were days wherein I'll just have to compromise myself by seeing her when I wake up to prepare myself to go to school and of course, when I arrive at home, still coming from school. It was exhausting yet I'm still hoping that all of it will be worth it in the end.

Oh, I won't forget how you almost forgot about my academic rants! Maybe you're just too preoccupied or you're probably zoning out again when you wrote and sent me your letter. Just like what I've mentioned in my previous letters, I'm taking up AB Political Science at the Ateneo de Manila University. I know that you're probably rolling your eyes on me right now since this is my third shift already in College! But don't worry, this is gonna be my last and final pre-law course... and hopefully my last and final University, too. Peace sign.

You mentioned last time that you went out with your dad, right? I think that it was really fun knowing that you get to bond with your father before you enter the military. You're taking much of your time and I'm really happy because you get to spend the remaining days with the people that you love the most. College is taking much of my hours—which is sad but at the same time it's fulfilling knowing that I get to accomplish all of my tasks which fuels me to stay even more productive!

How's your injury, River? I hope that you're taking good care of yourself especially because a month from now you'll be heading to the Academy already! Send my regards to your father and Aunt Lucy, too. Kiss Lala for me, please? I miss that crazy dog. I still can't believe how it's been two years since I last saw her. It's been two long years since I last saw you too, River. I miss you each day. And I will miss you even more now that you are entering the Philippine Military Academy. Don't forget to send me a letter ASAP. That's an order, Sir.

With love and light,
Tokyo
