This is a story about Geronimo Snow White. Once upon a time, there was a mouse. His name was Geronimo, Geronimo Snow White. His fur was white as snow.

*

One day, the Queen Mouse asked her mirror.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the furriest of us all?"

The mirror answered promptly, "Of course it is you, my queen!"

The queen smiled at her reflection, so furry, and was very happy.

But time passed and the seasons came and went, and Geronimo Snow White grew into a very furry mouse. This year, as winter approached, he became furrier and furrier.

In the winter snow, Geronimo's snowy white fur camouflaged perfectly. Geronimo was so happy and proud of his white fur.

In fact, he was getting so furry that his Cousin Trap started to make fun of him.

"Hey Cousinkins, why are you such a fur ball?" Trap teased. But even then, Geronimo was proud of his fur and he loved his white fur.

One winter day, Geronimo had become so furry that he was literally a fur ball.

That morning, the Queen Mouse asked the mirror, "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the furriest of us all?"

The Queen Mouse was already smiling, expecting to hear the usual answer. You, My Queen.

But that fateful day, the mirror answered, "It is Geronimo Snow White. A fur ball of amazing snow white fur!"

"Noooo! Mouldy mozzarella!" the Queen Mouse screeched. She was so angry she pulled out her precious fur from her head!

"I will not allow this," she said to herself, "I must be the furriest mouse in this kingdom."

The mirror said, "Geronimo Snow White lives in a cottage down by the river, with his family."

Soon after this, the Queen Mouse dressed up as a merchant. She went down to the cottage where Geronimo Snow White lived.

That day, Geronimo's sister Thea, his cousin Trap and Benjamin, his favourite nephew, had gone out to gather wood and pick berries.

The Queen Mouse knocked at the door. "Anybody home? I am here to sell some wonderful neckties!"

Geronimo Snow White was busy cleaning the house, and baking cheese casseroles. But he was intrigued.

"Neckties!" he said to himself, "I love neckties!"

The Queen Mouse whispered in a tempting voice, "I have red neckties, blue neckties, green neckties... which one would you want?"

Geronimo opened the door, started to look. "Wow!" Geronimo exclaimed, "You do have a wide range of neckties, it's amazing!"

The Queen Mouse had instructed the best neckties to be gathered by the court tailor. She suggested, "Why don't you try this black one? It will be a wonderful contrast to your white fur!"

She tied the black necktie around Geronimo's neck, and suddenly tightened it! The Queen Mouse choked Geronimo! Cheese nibblets!

Geronimo couldn't breathe, and he fell on the floor immediately. The Queen Mouse chuckled to herself. "Now, I shall be the furriest mouse of us all, once again!"

Happy, the Queen Mouse hurried back to her castle.

Around the time the Queen Mouse arrived home, Thea, Trap and Benjamin had come home with baskets full of berries and firewood to keep warm.

Trap was saying, "I hope that cheese casserole is ready. I could eat a whole mountain of cheese! I am super hungry!"

"Oh no!" shouted Benjamin. "Uncle Geronimo! He's unconscious!"

Thea checked Geronimo's pulse. "Rotten cheddar, he's not unconscious, he's dead!" Thea announced.

Thea quickly cut the necktie around Geronimo's neck, and started to give Geronimo CPR. She pumped Geronimo's heart and breathed air into his nose.

"Hic, hic..." Geronimo said weakly. He had come back to life!

"Oh my goodness, what happened?" Geronimo asked. "Oh Thea, oh Benjamin!" Geronimo exclaimed as his sister and nephew gave him warm hugs.

Trap was nonchalant. He said to Geronimo, "Furry ball, where is our cheese casserole?"

They all smelled something burning. While Geronimo was unconscious, the cheese casserole had burned in the oven! Cheese niblets!

Trap was beside himself. He was looking forward to the cheese casserole all day.

Thea and Benjamin were also very upset at whomever had done this to Geronimo.

Thea said to Geronimo very sternly. "Geronimo Snow White, you do not open the door if someone you don't know comes knocking!"

*

Just after this, the Queen Mouse reached her chambers. She asked the mirror, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the furriest of us all?"

She had a wide grin on her mouth. But then the mirror responded, "It is still Geronimo Snow White, with her white furry fur, my Queen."

The Queen was enraged. "I thought Geronimo Snow White is dead!" she shouted.

"But no," said the mirror, "Geronimo Snow White is happily eating raspberries and blueberries as we speak."

"Mouldy Swiss!" The Queen screeched in rage, and made another plan.
