Of all the dangers faced in the empty void between the stars, this one remains the most unusual. While investigating the Oolacile system, the science vessel USV Calis detected some strange transmissions coming from the black hole in the system. The voice in the transmissions were asking for the assistance of the commanding scientist Elisha Rodgers by name. Key words such as "tranquility" and "cycle" were extremely common during the transmission in addition to the cryptic phrase "the Worm waits for us to accept its love". After great deliberation with Unity Command and Ea Empress Nicole, I gave Rodgers the green light to enter past the event horizon to transmit any data received in real time until the vessel was lost one minute after entering the Rift. One month after the event of the Oolacile Rift we started to receive more transmissions from the Rift once more. The message "The Worm accepts your gift and longs to return in love" was recorded in Elisha Rodgers' own voice. Ten days after receiving this message, the transponder signal for the Calis was detected outside of the Rift. At this point I decided to quarantine the Oolacile System.
I dispatched Battlefleet Abyss under the authority of Admiral Sif to secure the Calis, now reclassified as Reemerged, along with two construction ships and a research ship. Reports state that Sif had a Border Post constructed just outside the Rift's event horizon and a monitoring station built above the Dead World Oolacile in system to keep active observation of the Rift. Additionally, several Reach class defense platforms were constructed throughout the system and three Halo class defense stations were constructed and one was placed at each of the three safe exit vectors for the system in order to insure the safety of the Unity and security of the quarantine.
I known that both Unity Command and the citizens of Ea along with Empress Nicole will start questioning as to the reason I ordered an entire battlefleet to lockdown and establish a heavy military presence in the Dead system of Oolacile, however the people of the Unity have learned early on in our time traveling across the stars that there is always a reason to fear the Dark.
