Rain has been whimpering since I ran from Damien. As much as I hate having my wolf in pain, I had to get out of there. I can't get attached, it'll only hurt more when he rejects me.
You don't know for sure that he would reject us. Raine defended.

Listen Scarlett, a mate is suppose to protect and love his mate. It's our natural instinct, he would be going against everything he is if he rejects us. You're pushing him away without giving him a chance, not everybody is going to hurt us, you have to let him in. Unfortunately for me, she was right. I'm so scared of getting hurt that I'm not even allowing myself the chance of happiness, to be with my mate.
Okay, I'll give him a chance. I conceded. With that little statement Raine was yipping for joy in my head.
I may be scared to fall again. Scared that I'm going to get my heart shatter, and I'll have nothing left, the string that I've been hanging on to for so long will finally be broken. How do I know that he'll be there to catch me? I don't, but it's a chance that both me and Raine need to take. With this revelation I decide to go for a long run through the woods.
********Later that night************
Wow, am I beat. After my run I realized it was 5 o'clock. So I made my way home to find Jace throwing his math book saying "Flocking math book! Why in gosh's name does anyone need this tuff in real life? The world would be a better place the they got rid of the gosh donut subject!" I couldn't help it I laughed so hard I was on the floor holding my stomach.
So after an hour of explaining it to him he finally got it and he was done with his homework within 45 minutes. Math as always my strong subject, that's what I plan to do when I'm done with school, that's right ladies and gentlemen I'm a math geek.
So I make dinner, very extravagant, mac & cheese. Normally I would make actual food, but right now Jace looks like he's about to fall over on his feet and it's only 7:30. So I get Jace to bed and I look at the time.
Huh, only 8:45. So looks like I have time to myself before going to bed.
Since I have time I make my way to the shower and turn it on. While I wait for the water to heat up I strip out of my clothes and put my phone on the speaker so I can listen to music. Coincidentally, the song Shower by Becky-G came on.
By the last verse I was ready to get out and dry off. I french braided my hair into pigtails and went to bed. Plugging in my phone and hitting shuffle on my music, the song Be your everything by Boys like Girls came on.

At the last verse my eyes were drooping and I fell into a dreamless sleep thinking about my mate.
