She walks in the street like a queen,
proud of her identity.
She doesn't let the awkward stares bother her,
nor the hushed talks.
She holds her abaya hem just a bit as she climbs the bus steps,
ignoring the weird look the bus driver gives her.
She visits the coffee shop for a donut and cappuccino,
before leaving for work.
She delivers her emotional valedictorian speech,
leaving her audience in awe.
She is a proud hijabi,
and she does not care whether people judge her.
