"So today is 2 verses 2?" I ask my grandfather, glancing at the man across from me.
"Yes," my grandpa responded; his eyes filled with mischief.
Shit.
"What's that got to do with him?" I ask, gesturing to the evil, brooding man.
"I'm entering you two in," Grandpa said, taking a swig of his mug, probably filled with booze, grinning at us like a madman.
"C'mon gramps, really?" I ask him, groaning, "You know that's gonna be a shitstorm,"
"Gihi, works for me, I've been itchin for a fight ever since last night," Gajeel said darkly, grinning like a Cheshire cat.
The man's terrifying when he wants to be.
"You mean when you got beat by a girl, who's apparently your daughter?" I ask him teasingly, trying to get a rise out of him.
"Huh," Gajeel huffed out, "You know, I guess I'd be more disappointed if I kicked her ass, kind of feel proud of the kid," He said, more to himself than anyone.
"Well she is your kid," I tell him honestly, not really surprised that his daughter was just as vicious as him.
"So, you two are will participate in the event today?" Grandpa asked, though, I'm sure both Gajeel and I knew Gramps wasn't asking us how we felt about the situation, he was telling us we would do it.
"I ain't got no problem with it if sparky's cool," Gajeel said, the side of his mouth tilting up, smirking mischievously.
"Watch it, metalhead," I responded, matching his tone, "I am curious, though, wouldn't it be better if I teamed up with someone from the Thunder Legion? After all, I am a better match with any of them when it comes to teamwork than with lug nut?" I ask him.
"True, but you have to remember that they are not on either of the teams we entered this year. Besides, I have a feeling will be needing them for more pressing matters, but that's beside the point, you two are participating today," Gramps said to us, his eyes turning serious.
