My indents didn't transfer for some reason. This is almost 2000 words. I really don't want to have to fix all these indents. Because that would make it twice now. Don't ask. IMPORTANT - Enjoy. This takes place right after Siren is slashed by the way.
A Castle Swimmer Fanfiction: Kappa x SirenKappa’s POV
It’s been a little bit since Siren was slashed in the back. I know I should wait for him to recover, but I want to see him. I should see him. Ya know what? I will see him! I swam into the cave leading into the castle. It was dark with sharp stalagmites and stalactites everywhere. I was ten feet into the cave when I saw Skiff.
“Hey Kappa!” He shouted at me. I put my finger in front of my mouth signaling him to shush his loud mouth. He swam towards me holding a brown bag.
“In this bag is a disguise you can wear to see Siren. It’s a guard uniform.” He whispered, smiling at me.
“Thank you so much Skiff,” I said, hugging him in appreciation. I started to swim away.
“Wait!” He shouted, immediately covering his mouth, too late to quiet himself. Luckily, it seemed that Skiff and I were the only ones in this vast and dark cave. “Guards are patrolling the city so be careful out there. If they see you up close, they will recognize that you’re not a shark.” He said. I nodded. I smiled and gave him a big thumbs up.
I swam into the city wearing the disguise Skiff gave me. As I swam into the shark-infested waters. I saw guards patrolling the city. I saw at least three patrols each having two sharks in the group. As I was swimming, I suddenly noticed how beautiful the city is. I never got to see it since I was locked up in the dungeon. As I looked up at the ceiling of the cavern, I noticed there were thousands of lights. They seemed to be produced by small bioluminescent organisms. The dull lights shined upon the city, causing it to glow. It seemed so peaceful and quiet. It’s hard to believe that just this morning, in this beautiful and peaceful looking city, that I was almost executed. That just this morning… Siren almost died because of me. I felt my eyes start to well up with tears of guilt and sorrow. I forcefully pushed the salty tears back. I’ve already done my share fair of crying. What I have to focus on is avoiding the night patrols. I swam through the glowing city, passing beautiful buildings. Great big tall buildings all glowing a strange blue-green color. It was a magical swim through the city so wonderful I almost forgot where I was going. Until I heard voices. Oh no! A patrol. It sounds like it’s coming from behind me just around the corner. There were no alleys or buildings, I could go into. No way for me to hide. I just hugged the wall facing the other side of the street knowing they would find me. The voices approached closer and closer. Finally, they turned the corner. They looked to be in their thirties and were covered in scars. They approached closer to me. My heart was pounding. my mind, racing. Why haven’t they haven’t seen me yet? It doesn’t matter. They’ll see me eventually. It’s just a mere matter of moments. I’m sorry Siren. I wish I could’ve protected you. I guess I won’t be able to tell you now. That I… they’re gone. They passed by me without noticing me. I know I’m short and everything, but I’m not invisible! I looked down. Holy mother of whale, I’m invisible. I’m invisible! Oh! My! fridging whale! Okay, calm down Kappa. You are invisible. Okay. I slowly and deeply breathed in and out. Okay. How do I become visible? This actually may be a good thing… for now. I can get past the other patrols. Okay. Good, good. Wait… where am I!? I freaked out about the fact that I was invisible and now I am lost! How typical of me. I’ll never find the castle in this huge city. I’ll just swim until I find it. I just have to keep on swimming.
After what feels like forever, I found the castle. I was on the verge of giving up when I finally found it. I was so happy I did a little jig and whisper sang “UH HUH, I DID IT, UH HUH, I DID IT I DID IT!” I… eventually stopped. I promise I stopped. Just not… immediately.
Thirty minutes later.
I swam up to the castle “window” (which is just a hole) just as Skiff instructed me. I was still invisible. Siren was awake and looking out the window when I poked my head up just outside the window.
“Um hi?” I said, swimming into the room.
“Kappa! You came back!” Siren said as he sat up. I went into his room. It was entirely blue and there were scrolls everywhere. His bed looked like a big jellyfish. Well, the blob part of a jellyfish.
“Of course I came back! But… I’m invisible.”
“That’s cool! How did you turn invisible! Is it like a camouflage! When did you turn invisible! Can you turn back? I can’t believe this! This is so cool! You’re amazing Kappa!”
“Too many questions. Slow down Shark Boy. First of all, I was sneaking past the patrols when I heard the guards behind me. I got really scared and I just turned invisible. But… I can’t turn visible. I’m stuck!” I said, my voice faltering at the end.
“Can you make your way toward me?” Siren asked. I nodded then realized he can’t see me.
“Yeah,” I said as I made my way toward him. I sat next to him on his bed, placing my hand on his, so he knew where I was.
“How’s the wound?” I asked.
“It’s very numb. They wasted the best medicine on me.” He said, saddened. I embraced him wrapping my arms around him.
“Good thing it’s numb. Otherwise this would hurt, and I can’t stand it when you’re in pain.” I said.
“You’re awesome.” He said smiling. “You’re not invisible anymore!” He shouted, still smiling. I jumped up with joy dancing around the room. Suddenly Siren’s smile went away. “You’re so dumb to come back. The other sharks still don’t know if they can trust you. They probably would still throw you in the dungeon.”
“You’re the dumb one!” I said, salty tears welling up in my guilt-filled eyes. You’re the one that jumped in front of a spear for me! It should have been me! You almost died. Siren, I can’t lose you too, so don’t ever do something like that again, okay!?” Tears started rolling down my face “Promise me. Siren promise me you won’t leave me. That you won’t die. Siren, I lov-” Suddenly, Siren got up and rushing over to me, he kissed me. His lips felt amazing. They were surprisingly soft. Not rough like his skin. He leaned into me, pushing our bodies together. Our bodies created a comfortable warmth. As we kissed our tongues met. It was a wonderful, warm, wild sensation. I could have stayed in that moment, for the rest of my life. Alas, it ended. We both pulled away, a string of saliva connecting our mouths.
“THAT WAS AMAZING!!” I yelled.
“Shh! You’re going to wake up the entire city.” He said covering my mouth with his hand. I licked his hand, as he stared at me with shock. Then I embraced him again kissing him shoving my tongue into his mouth dominating him sweeping the cavern of his mouth to his throat. He quickly pulled away breaking the kiss and the embrace.
“You didn’t like it…” I stated disappointed looking at the ground. “I’m sorry.”
“No! I did! I was just surprised. I’ve never kissed anybody.” Siren said. “It was amazing.”
“Really?!” I asked hopefully.
“Yep.” He said, this time kissing me, pulling me towards him, our warm bodies touching. His tongue dominated mine this time. Shoving it deep into my mouth. I pushed on the back of his head allowing for a bit more length. He extended his tongue even further shoving it farther than I did. I loved it. Eventually, we stopped.
“Hey Kappa…”
“Yes?” I asked.
“I love you too.” He said. I turned red and so did Siren.
“Do you want to sleep in my bed tonight? It is late and… I’ve missed you.”
“Yes,” I said sheepishly. He smiled at me and we kissed again but only for a second because then I sat on his bed and oh my fish.
“IT’S SO SOFT!” I said surprised.
“Just like your skin,” Siren said as I turned beet red. “When I was laying here after the incident, this bed reminded me of your amazing soft skin.” I turned even redder than fishly possible as he wrapped his arms around me.
“That’s weird,” I said. “But weird guys are my type.” I kissed him again thanking him for saying those three words. I love you. The kiss was sweeter this time. Our lips met, our tongues meeting, complimenting each other. It was magical. It soon ended as all things do. I was the one to pull away.
“Siren… How bad is it? The wound. Really. Tell me the truth.” I asked.
“It feels much better Kappa. Don’t worry about it.” He said smiling… lying. Siren really is a bad liar.
“You’re lying. You’re mother’s right. You really are a terrible liar.” I said.
“Ok.” He said. “Maybe. But it doesn’t matter how I feel Kappa.”
“It matters to me! Because it’s my fault! You wouldn’t have gotten hurt if it wasn’t for me! If I had just have been stronger, I would’ve never been pulled here in the first place! You should have left me to die Siren. You shouldn’t have jumped in front of that spear for me. I’m worthless. It’s all my fault.” I said. I was crying, my head buried in Siren’s chest. Siren laid us down on the bed facing each other and wrapped his arms around me, rubbing my back, my face still buried in his chest. I started to stop crying.
He looked into my eyes lovingly, softly, and then gently spoke, “Are you done my love?” He asked.
“Yes.”
“Good.” Siren softly said, smiling. “It’s not your fault. It was a situation where I acted with my heart. I’m sorry I got hurt, but you were worth it. So, don’t say you’re worthless. Because you’re worth everything to me. Please don’t say you never would’ve come here because then I’d never have met you. You are strong Kappa. Stronger than me.” He said. He spoke with such a gentle and calm tone to let me know that he cares about me. How lucky am I to have such a great boyfriend.
“I Love You Kappa.” He said gently. Nothing more needed to be said. I really am lucky. I laid there in his bed, my face still buried into his chest, my body up against his. With his arms still wrapped around me. Comforting me. We fell asleep.Thank you for reading. Chapter 2 is on its way. This took me a long time to write. I actually ended up writing many manuscripts then trashing them. I finally decided to go with my first idea. Which I then had to rewrite. I was thinking if I should keep them as merfolk or make them people like some have done. I went with this. I'm going to make a plot independent from the og. They will still be looking for a way to break the curse (i think) but everything that happens will be different starting from after Siren is slashed.
