Prologue

Ahiru's p.o.v

"I can't wait to get home..." Just like any student, I walked home alone. I didn't have friends at school. They think I'm weird.

"Some cliche book I'm in."

I don't need friends. I only need my family. Your friends may come and go, but your family doesn't. They're always with you. Through thick and thin, they're always there to support you. They will stay with you when you really needed help. 'They'll always be there'.

"Or so I thought..."

"Mom! I'm home!" I greet, only to receive silence as a reply. The house was messy than usual, as if it wasn't cleaned for months. I then head to the kitchen. "Mom? Dad? Come on, don't mess with me... It's not funny..." I laughed to myself nervously, expecting my dad to scare me from behind.

Suddenly I felt a presence and looked behind. But there was no one.

I looked around before going to my room. It looks the way it looked like when I left this morning.

But when I went to my parents' room, it was empty.

Nothing was there. Dad's coin collection, Mom's jewelry box, The drawings I made for them...

Everything was gone...

I then thought of my brothers and rushed to their room. "Of course..."

Panicking, I rushed outside and knocked on our neighbor's door. Chidori, opened the door. "May I help you? O-oh, Ahiru, what made you drop by?" She asked wearing a smile.

"Is mom there? She said she would visit you today." She shook her head. "N-no...She d-didn't come by today... Why? Is she not home?"

3rd p.o.v

"N-no... She d-didn't come by today... Why? Is she not home?" The middle aged woman asked. She was rather worried about the girl but couldn't think of anything to help.

"S-she didn't pay a visit...? I-I see... Come by the house when your free, mom would be delighted to talk to you when she returns, I hope." Ahiru then left.

The woman watch the girl leave. She looked around before going back inside her house.

She went to the kitchen and her son comes in. "Who was that on the door?" He asked. His mom just sighed. "It was Ahiru, she's asking about her mother who she said who should've paid a visit earlier. But I haven't seen her mom since yesterday."

"Really? Maybe something bad happened to them...." Her son said. Then he gasped. "What if they were murdered?! Her parents are heroes right?!" Then his mom smacked the back of his head. "Don't say such things! Go do the laundry!"

Ahiru's p.o.v

I'm really worried... "Where could they be...?" I went back to my room. "Maybe they're on a date or something...I'll just wait for them..."

I lay down on my bed and drifted off to sleep....

.....

"Dad! Mom! Wait for me!"

I was running after them while they walked away.

"Wait!"

Everything turned white.

.....

.....

Then, memories of me, my parents and brothers appears.

"Ahahaha! Kotaro, Wataru,stop! Hahahahahahha!"

That was when me and my brothers had a tickle fight. I couldn't stop wheezing after that...

"Okay! You can look now! Ta-da!"

That one was from Halloween, when we dressed all up in all might onesies, taking a family photo.

"Onee-san! There's something wrong with Fumikajiro! He's not moving..."

That scene came from the time our dog died.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday Ahiru!"

And that one was from my 7th birthday...

All the memories surrounds me and just in a blink of an eye, my family's figures disappeared.

In every memory, I was alone.

"You need to discover you power. So you can have us back.... We'll be happy .... And be together again...."

That voice...my parents.

"But for now...RUN. RUN AWAY! RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN! GET AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!"

Then, it was quiet....

I woke up. I sat up and looked around my room. "What now...?" I stared blankly at the ceiling.

"RUN!!!!!"

Their voice boomed in my head, alarming me. I stood up and packed my things. I was only able to fill my backpack with some clothes and valuables.

"RUN.RUN.RUN.RUN.RUN"

the voice chanted in my head. I ran outside. Then when I looked at our house it fades into a broken state.

There was a hole on the roof, the chimney was destroyed, the gates was dented, the family name plate was broken into pieces.

Then my surroundings dimmed.

Then a voice screeched:

"IT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE WEAK! YOU WILL NEVER BRING THEM BACK!"

That was the moment when I ran. I ran as fast as I could. I wasn't looking where I was going. I just wanted to escape from that voice.

"WEAK."

"YOU WILL NEVER AWAKEN."

"YOU WILL NEVER KNOW."

"THE..."

The voice then stopped the moment when I entered an unknown place and bumped into someone. My eyes widened in fear...

"Who are you?"
