Nalu: Turn

Short and sweet oneshot, based off of a oneshot on Fanfiction.net that was deleted

For all the medical stuff, I did some research but I'm no professional, sorry

Warning: Crying, fluff, and a *ahem* bit of an adult joke at the bonus scene

Third person Pov

Lucy sighed as the water cascaded down her back. Turning off the shower and wrapping her towel around her, she stepped out and motioned to Natsu that he could go shower. "Are you going to be okay without me for a couple of minutes?" He asked, eyebrows furrowing in concern.

You see, dear reader, on her yearly checkup they had found an unusual mass in her stomach that the doctors said looked like cancer. Today they were going to Porlyusica so she would confirm or deny what the doctors said.

"I'll be fine Natsu. Now go, we only have half an hour before we have to leave." She laughed weakly, putting on her clothes in the corner. Hearing the door of the bathroom shut, she quietly sobbed. She knew she shouldn't let her fiancé see her like this, but she couldn't help it.

For the first time in a long time, she was scared of what fate held in store for her. Ever since she had gotten with Natsu, she faced everything that life threw at her with confidence. They were to be married tomorrow, since Natsu proposed a year ago. But now that her life was possibly at stake, she couldn't keep it up.

She felt so useless. She felt like a burden. She was crying so hard for so long she didn't notice the shower turning off, or the door opening. Natsu ran out of the door and immediately swept Lucy up into a hug. "Shhh. Don't cry. Do you know how much I love you, and how sad this makes me?" Natsu whispered, kissing her forehead.

"You are my mate Lucy, and nothing will ever change that. I will love you for as long as I possibly can." He said, kissing her lips. When he did that, Lucy knew that she had found a place in the world. With him. With Fairy Tail.

"Now let's go get ready. No diagnosis is going to keep me away from you." He touched his forehead to hers, and Lucy got up and together, the walked hand and hand to Porlyusica's house in the woods. On the journey, sometimes Lucy felt lightheaded and Natsu had to carry her, but it was relatively easy.

Knocking on the door, they heard a muffled "come in" and opened the door. Lucy sat down on the bed and Natsu sat down on a chair next to the bed, still holding her hand. Porlyusica muttered, "Dragon slayers and their mates. So annoying."

"Alright Lucy, I'm just going to examine your stomach. Hold still for a bit." Porlyusica said, raising her hands, and they glowed similarly to Wendy's when she was healing. Even if she didn't show it, the pink haired woman was worried for the stellar mage and her dragon slayer.

But then she caught the sense of the mass in her stomach, she put her hands down, annoyed that they didn't find out sooner. "So since you didn't find out sooner, you'll have less time." Said Porlyusica, laughing. Natsu shot up, his face contorted in anger.

"WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?! THIS ISN'T FUNNY! MY MATE IS GOING TO DIE OF CANCER AND YOU'RE LAUGHING?!?! I OUGTHA PUMMEL YOU INTO THE GROUND!" He shouted, grabbing the doctor's collar and shaking it furiously.

Lucy whispered, "How long do I have?" Her eyes were watering. "About eight months, but I figured it'd start to show in a couple of months." Porlyusica replied. "Wait. What's going to start to show?" Said Natsu, letting go of her to go and hug Lucy.

"These doctors are so incompetent. Unable to see until someone's two months along. Leaving me to tell these people." Porlyusica rolled her eyes. "You're pregnant. I expect you to be back in two weeks for a checkup. Now get OUT!" She pushes the pair out of her house, and for a second they stare at each other, blinking.

Then Natsu jumps on Lucy, and gives her a hug, raising her in the air and spinning in circles. Lucy lets loose a joyful laugh, all her worries were for nothing! Instead, she would get a blessing, a child!

Putting her down, Natsu brushed his lips on hers and stared into her eyes with love and hope for the future. "Let's go tell the guild Luce!" Natsu pumped his fist in the air, picked her up, and ran to Fairy Tail.

Lucy laughed. It's always going to be fine. As long as she has him.

After all, it's always more fun when they're together.

•Bonus Scene•

Natsu bursts through the guild doors and shouts, "JOKES ON YOU ICE PRINCESS AND METAL MOUTH, MY BOYS CAN SWIM!" Said boys looked very, very confused. Lucy blushes and covers her face with her hands.

Mira gets it immediately, and screams, "NALU BABIES!!!" As she is running towards the couple. While the Take-Over mage is hugging Lucy, Levy quickly catches on and embraces her best friend.

"Gramps, d'you got any ideas what's goin on here?" Gajeel asks the Fairy Tail leader. Makarov sighs.

"It means God help us all, my child. God help us all."
