I walked into the school’s main office and up to the front desk. The older woman that was sitting in front of a computer, slightly humming to herself, looked up and smiled. She looked to be about fifty and had a friendly look on her face. I smiled at her and held my hand out for her to shake.
“Hello, my name is Dominique Moore. I’m the new student.” I said quietly. I hated going to a new school. It was always the same. For the first week everyone wanted to be your friend, and when they finally realized you didn’t care and didn’t want to talk to them they would forget all about you and it would be as if you never existed.
“Hello Dominique! Welcome to Forks High School! Here is your schedule and a map of the school. Your locker number is on your schedule and your combination is right below it. You need to take this slip and get it signed by all of your teachers and bring it back at the end of the day alright? There is a young girl waiting outside that will show you to all of your classes and help you out for your first day. Any questions?” I shook my head and she smiled. “Great! I hope you have a wonderful day!”
I smiled warily at her and wandered out of the office. I looked around and found a beautiful girl to my right. She looked to be about my height with short spiky black hair and bright gold eyes. She was amazingly beautiful and I knew right away that she wasn’t human. I wasn’t scared though, she looked to be genuinely nice.
“Hello Dominique! I’m Alice. Mrs. Porter asked me to show you around today.” She said bouncing in one spot.
“Hi Alice,” I said. She seemed a little put off by my short answer but she got over it soon.
“Come on I’ll show you to your first class! We have all of our classes together! You can sit with me and my family at lunch!” She talked really fast and never once stopped to breath. After a while I just tuned her out and nodded every once in a while.
When we reached our first class, English, I walked up to the teacher’s desk. He was a middle aged man with a balding head and a goatee. He looked nice enough, but he also had that no nonsense attitude about him as well.
“Hello I’m Niki, your new student.” I said quietly.
“Hello Niki, if you would take a seat next to Jasper then we can go ahead and get started. We don’t have any more books so you can just share Jaspers for right now.” He signed my slip and then I turned around. There was only one spot left open and it was right next to the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. He had long curly blonde hair and these perfect lips that were curved up into a semi smirk/smile. Then I looked at his eyes and felt the most wondrous feeling. His eyes were a dark gold color and they were staring right back at me. I felt as though he was staring straight into my soul. I wanted to drown in his eyes, and that thought scared me straight back down to earth. The last thing I thought before I refused to think about him again 'was what the hell was that?'
