Got married at 18, just to get divorced at 33.That was Ally and Lauren.
Lauren might have moved out of their house to a lonely studio apartment but she was the "happiest" she has ever been. Even though she has two beautiful kids, Lauren can live out the rest of her 30's as a bachelor.
She won't have to live with her "bitch" of an ex wife anymore.
Or that's how she tries to see it.
Lauren misses Ally everyday, she hates that they separated. They still talk for their children's sake but they were a few weeks from finalizing the divorce.
Lauren was driving around on her old mustang as she picks up her kids for the weekend. The twins, Hazel and Hayden were her entire world. Ally and Lauren had them during senior year of highschool when they were 17. 16 years later, they were a lot harder to keep up with than when they were kids.
Hazel was the perfect post child, or that's what everyone thought. She was more like Ally. Organized, precise, clean, and perfect in everything she does. She was a cheer leader, and also on the academic team.
Hayden was almost opposite. He was the sports master, but very clumsy. Loved art, so what Hazel thinks is a mess, he sees a masterpiece. He was more like Lauren. Care free, no care for a schedule or rules, just wanted to go with the flow.
Lauren honks as she parks in front of the house since she knows it'll piss her "wife" off. She smirks as she sees the little grump she loves stomp outside the house. "Lauren you're gonna make the neighbors complain you idiot!" Ally yells from the porch and Lauren gets out of the car, and yells back, "You seem to forget you were screaming my name a couple of months ago! They will be fine!"
Ally groans and goes back inside to let her kids know that their mom was there. They run outside, "Mom!" Lauren hugs her kids, "Smallish people, I see your GORGEOUS mother is in a good mood today." Lauren says as she smirks at a glaring Ally.
Hazel rolls her eyes, "You know you're the reason for her mood swings correct?" She says and Hayden laughs, "I think she knows Haz, that's why she does it."
Lauren smiles, "Good boy, now let's go before she starts to yell at me in that Mexican accent of hers."
Lauren loads the kids into the car, and they take off. "So did your mom have anything planned this weekend?"
"I think mom was gonna have an inspector come because she's having a leak in her room or something, probably before her date tonight."
Lauren stops the car immediately and looks back at her son, "Date?!"
Hayden felt like he said the wrong thing, "Um yeah her date with Sasha, the accountant."
Lauren throws her head back in defeat, "Fuck he's good at math, of course she'd date someone like that...is he handsome? What does he look like? Does he make her laugh? How long has that been going on."
Hazel and Hayden look at each other and laugh, "Mom you're kidding right? He kinda looks like well small and adorable like Mom says to be honest but you know he's boring sometimes I guess he is cool but he makes mom smile." Hazel says.
Lauren felt her insides burn, "Oh whatever, she's just being nice."
"She's awfully nice in the bedroom then because that's where they giggle the most." Hayden says without thinking and Hazel smacks his head, "Shut up dimwit."
Lauren felt as if she could choke Sasha out.
And Ally. Another man in the bed they shared together for years.
"Mom can I go to Stacey's tonight?" Hazel asks trying to distract her mom from getting jealous.
Lauren continues to drive, "Sure you guys are old enough that you don't need to be with me every day." Lauren says. Hayden speaks up, "Can I go to Damions then?"
Lauren nods, "Sure just don't tell your mother or she will kill me."
"She already wants to do that."
"Anyway, I guess I can chill out this weekend, God knows I need a break from work." Lauren owned a pipelining business so she was always working to make sure everything was going smoothly. Sometimes meant she had to get dirty and put in some overtime. She's worked non stop but only gets The Weekend off when she gets her kids.
"Anything else I should know about Sasha?" Lauren brings it up again and the kids shrug their shoulders, "Mom says he's good with his hands." Hayden says and Hazel groans.
Lauren looks at them, shocked. "She told y'all that?"
Hazel shakes her head, "No but sometimes we ease drop on her and Tia Dinah's convos..."
Lauren grumbles and turns up the radio. She will deal with it another day.
