Life as a hunter of Artemis isn't as easy as you think.

"HOLY HEPHAUSUS' WORKSHOP!" Luna screamed as she jumped over a rotten log, running for her life for definitely not the first time.

A huge boar roared behind her, not having to evade the obstacles and simply running into them uprooting the trees with it's tusks and tossing them aside as it ran.

"HEY GUYS!" Luna shouted, as she notched an arrow in her bow, "I DON'T THINK IT LIKED THAT!"

Other hunters could be seen, though barely, in the trees above her, having learned how to climb trees expertly and where firing arrows at the beast as they hopped from tree to tree.

"Really Luna?" One of them shouted, "I couldn't tell!"

The boar roared in added sarcasm.

"Oh shut up!" Shouted one of the hunters at the boar. She was one of the children of Pan, so she could speak to most animals and monsters.

"What did it say?" Asked another hunter.

"You don't want to know!"

Luna tripped over a large branch and almost got a tree thrown on her when some vines snatched her, and tugged her up quickly.

"Come on Janice!" Luna snouted as the vines threw her in front of them a bit, and she landed on her feet, continuing to run, "I don't need your help!"

"Oh, if becoming a pancake was your dream, I'm sorry I stopped you from it!" Janice said back, swinging from vines that quickly grew and wrapped around her hands.

Luna rolled her eyes and continued to run until she spotted a goddess in front of her, holding her bow ready to fire at the boar.

Artemis.

Luna ran past her, and then whipped around to watch the boar's forehead spilt worse than it did at Athena's birth, and an arrow in the middle of that said head.

"Good shot my lady," Said the hunters, coming to the ground.

Luna panted, nodding in agreement, and put her hands on her knees to catch her breath.

"Aw someone tired?" Thalia, a child of Zeus, mocked with a smirk.

"Yeah," Luna scrunched her nose at her, "Something wrong with being out of breath?"

"Naw man," Thalia play punched her shoulder and then walked over to Janice and started to chat.

Once Luna had caught her breath she walked over to the tents, where they had encamped for about a week now.

"Oh, hello." A hunter a few years older than Luna smiled down at her, and anyone who looked at those eyes just knew that there had to be tons of decades of wisdom in that brain.

"Is it a girl day I'm guessing?" She cocked her head to the side.

"Yeah, mom," Luna nodded, "You just wake up or something? You missed the boar hunt. You don't normally sleep in so I let you be."

"Yeah," She shrugged, "I haven't slept great in a few weeks."

"Not since-"

"Don't," She frowned, looking down quickly, "Don't say her name, please."

"Sorry," Luna said softly right as Artemis walked up to the both of them, holding one of the boar's tusks in hand.

"Her constellation is still beautiful as always," Artemis said with a small smile, "We all miss her. Zoe was a great hunter. Just like all of you are. But when someone you love leaves us-"

"The best thing you can do for them is make sure they are remembered even after they leave us." Luna's mother, and Artemis said, Luna's mom, saying it like a memorized verse.

Artemis nodded, "Yes."

"Hey guys!" Shouted one of the hunters, gesturing towards the forest behind them, "I saw an injured wolf run over here, can I get an Apollo hunter to come with me and Jesse?"

"I'm coming!" Luna's mother said, raising her hand up. She then ran over to help them, and followed the two other hunters into the forest.

Artemis folded her hands behind her back, "Walk with me Luna."

"Yes, ma'am," Luna nodded.

This wasn't uncommon for Luna. Artemis liked to have conversations with her hunters on walks. She had the most with Zoe, before she passed. Now, she liked talking to the uncommon Luna. It was a good feeling for Luna. She liked having someone she could vent to without fear, or ask advice for something. What made it better, however, is that she was talking with a goddess. That made her wisdom all the better.

Once they were a little ways away from the campsite Artemis spoke up, "I don't like to sugar things for people. I would like to let you know that there as been a disturbance in peace again."

"What is it this time?" Luna asked cautiously. Gaints? Titans? Monsters from Tartarus? A giant mutant squirrel that somehow made a poison dipped spear and then spent his days terrorizing little kids and eating house pets? (Long story)

"An untamable creature as escaped from Tartarus," Artemis said simply, sighing.

"Alright," Luna smirked, running in place some, "Let's go kick some monster butt. We can..." Luna trailed off as she realized the uncommon face the goddess had on her.

"You can't beat it?" Luna froze, staring at the goddess.

"I do not believe I can," Artemis said with a sigh off annoyance.

"What is so powerful that even you can't kill it?" Luna asked bewildered.

"I cannot say it's name," Artemis said, "The name has only been muttered 3 times since it's existence. Say it's name and it will grow more powerful than it already is."

"I...I understand," Luna nodded, "Then what are we doing?"

"I think you missed what I am trying to tell you," Artemis said softly.

"Oh," Luna frowned, "What was that?"

"You." Artemis stared at Luna. "You have to kill it Luna. You have to kill the unnamable monster."
