"I think I'm in love with you Catherine"
Catherines eyes went wide and Jane instantly regretted saying that.
"Wait Catherine-" "I'm in love with you too" Catherines features softened and she lifted her right hand to rub her thumb against Janes cheek lovingly.
"You do?" Jane breathed, feeling a sense of relief wash over her.
Catherine made a confused face, "uhm did you ever catch on the first couple of months being here that I was flirting with you?"
"Uhm yeah about that" Jane looked away feeling embaressed for not knowing this.
"Jane!" Catherine laughed, she sat up and looked at the queen beside her. "You didn't realize!?" a big smile was plastered on Catherine.
Jane shook her head and covered her face with her hands. "Ugh no! I had a huge crush on you and I was terrified you were gonna hurt and reject me" Catherines face softened once more.
"Jane, no, look at me" Catherine kissed Janes forehead, and lay beside her again, looking deeply into her eyes.
"Jane I will never hurt you, I vow that to god" Catherines voice was filled with adoration and her touch became gentle.
Jane smiled, tears in her eyes, and pressed a passionate kiss to Catherines lips, pulling away Jane whispered "I love you" before snuggling into her lover.
"I love you too" Catherine whispered back, wrapping an arm around Jane.
And there they lay, in each others arms, falling asleep.
Together at last.
