Chapter 4

~ Bailey's pov ~
I was in the middle of doing my homework when the doorbell rang. I got up and walked downstairs and opened the door and saw Chris.

"Oh, uh, Chris. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Oh, uhm, I wanted to apologize for Stephanie." He said.

"It's fine, Chris." I said. He nodded. "Do you uh wanna come inside or?" I asked.

"Uh sure." He said. I stepped aside and he walked in. I shut the door.

"Do you want something to drink?" I asked.

"Uhm, no thanks." He said. "Look, I uhm actually cant stay, but I just wanted to let you know I dumped Stephanie." He said.

"Oh, that's good I guess." I said. "I mean it's your choice." I said. He sighed. I looked at him. He looked at me. The next thing I knew he was kissing me. I pushed him off. "Chris, I can't." I said. "I have feelings for someone else." I said. He sighed.

"I'm just gonna go." He said. "I'll see you whenever you come back to school." He said. I nodded and he left. I sighed.

"My life's just turning out fucking perfect." I said. The doorbell rang. I opened the door and saw Fronz. "Hey." I said.

"Hey." He said. "You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, aren't you supposed to be at school?" I asked.

"Yeah, but I ditched. I wanted to come see you." He said. I stepped to the side.

"Come in." I said. He walked in. I shut the door. I walked to the kitchen and he followed. "I made coffee. You want some?" I asked.

"Sure." He said. I poured us both cups. "Milk, two sugars please." He said. I nodded and made his cup and stirred it and gave it to him. I made my cup and sat on a stool. He sat beside me. "Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, my nose is fine." I said. He nodded.

"Where's your mom?" He asked.

"She uh she went out." I said. He nodded.

We sat there for hours talking and laughing. The front door opened and my mom walked in.

"Hey, honey." She said.

"Hey, mom." I said. "Mom, this Chris Fronzak. Chris, this is my mom Mariah." I said.

"Nice to meet you." They said at the same time. I smiles.

"Have you eaten anything?" She asked.

"No not yet." I said.

"Did uh Jasper come home yet?" She asked.

"Yeah, he's in his room playing video games." I said.

"Alright. Chris, would you like to stay for dinner?" She asked.

"Sure." He said. "Thank you." He said. She nodded.

"I'm going to go ahead and start cooking. I'll let you know when dinner is done." She said. I nodded and got up. Fronz followed me to the living room.

"Your mom seems nice." He said.

"Every now and again she has her moments." I said. He nodded.

"Dinners done." My mom called from the kitchen. I paused the show me and Fronz were watching. We got up and walked into the kitchen. My mom had the table set and plates of food around the table. I smiled. Jasper walked down and grabbed his plate and walked upstairs. My mom sighed. We sat at the table and started eating.
