'I need to get the yard clean,' I thought to myself while looking out the kitchen window.
"Malana!!"
I rolled my eyes at the voice of my aunt.
"MALANA!!"
I groaned as I walked to the foot of the stairs to scream back at her
"Yeah?!"
She appeared at the top of the stairs with a scowl on her face.
"Uhm no ma'am. You will NOT have that attitude towards me," she said as she crossed her arms at me.
"Just tell me what you need Aunt Beth," I said as I rolled my eyes once again.
She raised her brow at my eye rolling. "I need you to go and get some more groceries. We will be having guests."
I swear if I had a dollar for every time I have rolled my eyes at this woman, I would be the richest person alive. "Will I be able to actually eat with the guests this time?"
"I think you know the answer to that already," she said with an eye roll of her own, "Now get going. I have to start cooking by four-thirty." She turns away from the stairs and leaves to hide in her bedroom once again. "Now, Malana!!"
I rolled my eyes for the fourth time in five minutes.

I'm walking down the road we live on towards the store which was about a mile away from the house. I would just drive there, but Beth won't let me take her car anywhere, because she would have to "pay more for insurance."
I huffed in frustration as I keep trekking on.
Why did mom and dad have to leave me here with her? I hate living with her. She may be my dads sister, but why did I have to go to her? I could have just went to my moms brothers and live there with his 6 year old daughter, Dalia. I look down at my wrist to look and see how much time I still have left.
47,829,600 minutes left. 91 years. If my aunt keeps this up and makes me pay for every little thing, I'll be left with 5 minutes before I'm able to leave her house. Every "young person" has to live with a guardian until they are twenty-four. Why twenty-four? That's a pretty damn good question. Cause sure as hell have no clue.
I make it to the store and see it's not very busy at all. "Thank goodness," I say to myself as I go through the sliding doors.
I start heading down the aisles, picking up everything that Beth wanted. "Why can't I just eat at the damn table with everyone?" I mumbled to myself, not really paying attention to where I'm going. I turned away from the shelf of noodles I was looking at towards my cart and bump into someone.
Hard.
I pick myself up off the ground and dust my pants off. "Why the fuc-" I stop mid-word when I realize what I bumped into. All the color drains from my face and I feel cold.
Terrified.
It is one of the men that killed my parents.
The man smirked.
"Hello again, Malana."
