The city was destroyed. Thousands dead with the monster still out there, living underground, and needing radiation to survive. People didn't know anywhere safe to live.
The monster, known as Godzilla, could come out of the ground any day. People were trying to find shelter and hiding places. The city of Manhattan is a hard place to live. Meanwhile the whole rest of the world was hearing about the news. They had found a skeleton similar to this Godzilla monster, but how long ago did they roam the earth. They had to kill this Godzilla or put it in a coma.
