Pallet Town is not very big. In fact, it's so small even the people who live in Kanto would give you an uncertain look.Yet the one thing we have to give us recognition is the Professor; ah good ol' Professor Oak... He studies the relationships between humans and Pokémon, making him the living embodiment of our quaint little town.
The people in Pallet itself were either older and retired or settled down with rowdy children, there were very few young adults living here.
Unlike the traditional buildings and the very minimal picturesque surroundings, most of us grow out of Pallet and wish to look someplace else.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why Professor Oak gives Pokémon to aspiring young trainers, I mean, that's what brings us together... We all share a lifelong mission: operation escape from Pallet Town.
Back to the size of Pallet Town, in all my fifteen years had I never felt more exhausted by the supposedly short run from my home- near the escape road- to Prof. Oak's lab.
Pushing my arms harder and harder as my legs sped across the battered path, my attention had instantly been gained at the small hoot from the treeline.
Standing frozen on this side of town was a pretty risque move on my part; the area was well known for being where Blue and his posse lurked. The only thing to fear from Blue is that he'd sneer at you and try to publicly embarrass you- or just the one, if you're lucky.
Unfortunately he'd also be walking out of Oak Pokemon Research Lab at approximately 11:00am with a Pokemon too. It's almost ironic, Blue and his former-friend Red would both be getting their Pokemon today while I'll be the one stuck in the side-lines either watching them squabble or sentence the other to death stares.
I had never talked to Blue, whilst my very articulate conversations with Red would whined up generally like this:
"Hi." I would always say first, nodding towards Red in recognition.
Red was not very talkative so he would mimic my earlier word, "hi."
Biting the inside of my cheek I would awkwardly stare just left of his eyes. "May I borrow a pencil?"
As much as I'd want to have a travel partner and companion, I had to face reality and think realistically... I would be on my own, like a lone Mightyena.
"Haha Red! I will be at the lab before you!" The very distinctive voice of Blue Oak sneered loudly.
Near the town's fountain I see two figures racing at full pelt in my direction, oh Arceus, help me.
"Not if..." Red pants heavily, "I can't help it!" He wheezes, falling to his knees.
Noticing that he no longer had a shadow following him, Blue stopped deadpan in his tracks.
Striding up to the lab I pause briefly to speak to him. "Wipe off that arrogant smirk before I do it for you."
As much as I yearned to know what his reaction was, it would've lost me my dramatic flare as I stalked away, being the first to go into the lab.
And Green wins the race.
I never thought the one thing that would stand out for me most in a research lab would be the temperature. My mother has passed on the low blood pressure to me, inevitably making myself susceptible to the cold.
"Hello? I presume you're one of the youngsters who will be getting a Pokemon today, yes?" A middle aged man asked from behind a large clipboard, pushing his large specs further up his nose.
