I didn't even know what hit me.
One moment, I was fighting demons just as they'd taught me. The next, I was standing over my own gasping body.
I refused to believe it.
I wasn't dead.
I must've been dreaming.
That had to be it... Right?
I couldn't be dead.
I was right here.
This couldn't be really happening, I couldn't be dying.
I watched myself gasp for air, I could feel the breaths getting harder and harder to take. The blood dribbled down my chin, I wanted to scream for Sam, for Dean... Someone to come rescue me, but I could feel the blood in my mouth, if I opened my mouth I'd choke.
All I could do was watch, watch myself slowly die on the ground. The blood from the stab wound where my right lung was, was staining my favorite shirt. The brief thought of it being Sam's flashed through my head, it was almost like guilt.
I was wearing the necklace Kevin had gotten me for my twelfth birthday, back before we even knew the Winchesters.
I suppose that's how everyone ends up when they hang out with them.
I saw the life leave my own eyes, almost as if my body has stopped trying to keep itself alive.

Sam and Dean rushed over, after what felt like a few brief moments. They were too late, I was dead. "Ronan? R-Ronan... Oh my god." Sam was stuttering, there were tears forming in his puppy dog eyes.
"Dammit!" Dean growled angrily, his fists clenched. "We promised Kevin we'd keep her safe!"
"Ronan, hey! Stay with me! I... I'm going to get you to a hospital!" D-Dean, help me pick her up." He said, tears streaming down his face. I wanted to hug them, the both of them.
They didn't deserve this.
"Sammy." Dean said, more remorseful than before. "Sam, she's gone."
Sam hugged my corpse, burying his face in my shoulder.
"Another Tran down, huh?" The familiar voice came from behind me, Kevin stood there. His eyes looked lighter than they did the last time I saw him. "You... You left me!" I shouted, I punched him in the chest, then pulled him into a hug. "I missed you... I was so scared." "Hey... Hey... Shhh... Don't worry about me right now... Worry about Sam... Worry about Dean... They have to know this wasn't their fault." Kevin said quietly, you could practically hear the peacefulness in his voice. "I... I just... I'm really dead." I whispered, my eyes closed.
"Yeah. You're really dead." Kevin said softly, holding my hand like a good big brother would. "You were fighting... Fighting hard. It wasn't your fault. It was the demon's... There was one behind you who took you by surprise... The demon blade has a surprisingly high mortality rate." He smiled lightly. "I can't... Be dead." I said softly.
"'Cause you love him?" Kevin said cautiously.
"Yes-" I started before shooting him a look.
"Hey, I'm your brother and a ghost, I know everything." He said, smiling cheekily.
I closed my eyes and took a deep shaky breath and watched the Winchesters one last time.
"Come on. Let's go... Let me show you something." Kevin said softly, smiling lightly and pulling me along, and with that I felt a wave of peacefulness... Serenity.
That was the end of life, I suppose.
