"Dude,  you're crazy?" Jenny exclaims when I tell her I wanna sneak into the register to find his name.

"I mean how else will we find out?"  She's looking at me like I stabbed someone,  took their eyeballs out, threw them in their drink, make them drink it and then throw them into a trash can.

"We're not doing anything illegal." I say, rolling my eyes.  She sighs and that's when I know I hit bull's eye.

"When?" She asks slightly irritated. I grin.

"Now."

"What?" Before she can start complaining I drag her to the classroom.

"Do you know what you're doing?" She whispers. I nod and wink at her.

"Hello Mrs . Black, I was wondering  can I check how I'm doing?  Like results in tests and assignments?" She looks up at me.

"You doing wonderful Emma. There's only a slight problem with...."
Crap. I wasn't planning on it going in this direction. I rally didn't need to be reminded that I'm ADHD.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Jenny standing uncomfortably.

"Uhmm...Mrs. Black I was wondering..hmm.." She looks around frantically. "Is that a poster about grammar? Could you please explain it to me? I don't think I understand commas very well."
Bingo!

Mrs. Black walks to the poster and now her back is towards me. I quickly grab the register and skimmed through the names. Nothing, nothing, nothing.

At the end of the list I find scribbled in pencil his name.
Eduardo Jamson.

I  nearly burst out laughing. Eduardo?! That sounds like a horse and a donkey cry combined.

"Thank you Mrs Black; I understand it now." I hear Jenny say a little louder then normal. I pull away from the register and pretend to be looking at a poster above the table.

"Now, I need to go ladies. Good bye!" She takes her bag and we run off. We run silently untill we get outside.

"Thanks Jenny. You're amazing." She grins.

"You know, I could totally be a detective..or an investigator." I roll my eyes.
Eduardo.

I smile slightly.

"Guess what his name is?"

"What?" She asks.

"Eduardo Jamson." She smirks.

"For a guy like him? I mean he's this hot, bad - looking boy and Eduardo?" She chuckles.

"Ay,  you got a thing for him?" I ask.

"Nah.  I have a feeling he's an idiot." I nod. Yeah, not far off. So far he hasn't proven to be really a nice guy.

We talk a little more and then I set home.  As I'm also in the road to get to the bus station I see Alex.
Oh no.

I can't back away, I'm already in the middle of the road.

This will not be pretty.

Last time  I had an "accident" with Alex, I sprained my right hand and had to write with my left for the rest of the Christmas holiday.

He smirks and walks up to me confidently. He bumps into me, on purpose obviously.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." He's being sarcastic. Oh boy. I didn't like where this was going.  I step back. He smirks and grabs my hand. He pulls me closer to him and for a moment I think I'll get away with just some rude comment but he throws me into the little puddle by the sidewalk and the ice breaks. I fall backwards and my bag goes flying. I feel an icy cold pang as the water soaks my pants. I tremble with cold and slowly get up. But the second I get up Alex shoves me and I bump into a fence. My shoulder is throbbing but before I can even groan  he's in my face. My heart beat quickens. This is going to be it. I'm going to die.

I try to think of some kind of plan to escape but I would need superpowers and a right mind set to complete it. And my school bag. I look behind Alex and see my bag only a few meters away. But standing over it....I squint.
Him.

That's when i feel a blow coming at my stomach. I groan and look down at the sidewalk.  I clutch my stomach and I prepare myself for another blow.
Why isn't he doing anything?

Another blow comes and this time I fall to me knees. I look up at "Eduardo" but his face is expressionless.
Is he just gonna stand there and do nothing?!

"Hey! That would be enough." I her a deep voice say. Alex backs away and looks at Eduardo.

"Man, now? It was getting really fun!"
FUN?! IS HE CRAZY!?!?  Okay yeah, he kinda is...but. This. WASN'T. FUN!
"Yeah, whatever. But I think she got enough for now." He picks up my bag ( wow since when did he turn into a gentleman? ) and walks towards me. Alex just shrugs and walks away. I look up and I'm surprised by how light his eyes actually are. They seemed darker when he stood in the classroom but now, up close, they were a nearly caramel colour.
Is he gonna help me up? Oh my gosh our hands will touch?! I get a surge of excitement and forget all about my pains. But my heart drops a little when he stares at me blankly.

"Get up," he says impatiently.

Nope, he definitely isn't a gentleman . Still a selfish idiot.

I grunt but I get up and he hands me my bag. I take my bag and nod at him the only thought on my head running around in circles.
We're close to each other. Very close. And he saved me.

OK,  maybe he wasn't on his friendliest terms but how much could I want?

"Next time watch your back." He grunts.
Not even a 'are you okay'? 'He's an ass'? 'I try not show my disappointment so I smile instead. But it's forced. And he sees it.

"Does anything hurt?" He asks, but there is no concern in his voice. It's more like he's bored. I sigh.

"No, I'm fine." I say in a really squeaky voice.
WHY AM I SPEAKING LIKE THIS??? AND IN FRONT OF HIM?

Okay, loosen up Emma. I take a couple of deep breaths and try to make a chit chat.

"So Eduardo huh?" I say and put the bag on my back. He makes a face and shakes his head.

"No." I wait for him to carry on but that's all he says.

"What's your name then?" There's a pause.

"Dean." He shrugs. I raise my eyebrows.  I must say it sounds much better. Suits him more.

"Since when?" I ask.

"Nickname." He mumbles. I look up at him but he doesn't meet my eyes. I expect him to say something like 'be more careful next time' but he only says:

"Watch your back young lady."  He turns and walks away. Just like that our little' thing -I- would- like- to- call- a -moment- but -isn't'  is over.
