May 2018 marks the beginning of Maisie's last summer before she graduates college and enters the "real" adult world. As an education major, Maisie has spent the past three years studying hard to become a successful special education teacher. However, this summer, she plans to spend it relaxing and hanging with her small group of friends. In fact, they were all getting ready to embark on a week-long trip to the exciting beaches of Clearwater, Florida. She remembered the last time they had been to Clearwater, was back in 2015 when they went on their senior trip. This time however, they won't be accompanied by their overprotective parents.

As the cool summer breeze blew the fly away hairs from her face, Maisie listened to the sounds surrounding her Oklahoma home. The cicadas sung harmonious and foreign songs that filled her ears as the clouds above shielded her from the suns unforgiving rays. She could hear birds chirping and could see grasshoppers springing from their hidden grassy homes. Her friends would be there any moment which would be when the real fun began. As she waited, she reminisced on how each of them came into her life and slowly began to change her, from the shy girl she used to be, into a more open individual. Even still, she didn't consider herself to be a social butterfly like her friends but having them around made it easier for her to meet new people.

She was brought back to reality by the sound of a car horn. Her friends had finally arrived and before she knew it, her legs took a mind of their own and leapt from her shaded wooden porch. "What's up Bitch!" screamed Victoria as Taylor's 2014 Ford Focus BEV parked in front of her house. The three girls filed out of Taylor's car and bombarded Maisie with hugs. It had been awhile since the group had got together and some quality time was way overdue. "It's about time you hoes got here!" Maisie said with a laugh. The girls returned this laughter by there own before heading inside to help Maisie grab her bags. Their flight was scheduled for 7 p.m. and they had exactly and hour and a half to get to the airport that was about thirty minutes away.

"Well," began Haley, "what are we waiting for? Florida awaits!". The girls screamed an in synced, "Onward!", before piling in the car and heading to the airport. After another thirty minutes of checking in and waiting in-line to board the flight, they finally made it to their seats. Their fly-time was estimated to be 5-6 hours, so the crew decided to nap while they waited. You may wonder how someone could sleep that long and still be able to go to bed that night, but these girls are trained in the arts of sleep. However, Maisie found it a little difficult to stay asleep since this was her first time in a plane. She could feel the plane swaying as it moved through the darkening sky. Every little noisy the plane would make set her nerves a flame with anxiety. Maisie finally managed to knock out after three hours of tossing around in her seat.

Getting off the plane was the easiest part of the trip so far. Now, the group had to rent a car and find their townhouse which was located right on the outskirts of the city of Clearwater. Said house had two rooms (each containing two twin beds), two bathrooms, an updated kitchen, access to the beach, and a nice porch where they could sit and watch the sunset. Sine the car rental place was closed, the girls had to call a cab. After navigating the busy streets of Florida, they finally made it to their home away from home. It was a little smaller than the picture made it look, but thankfully everything was as the site said when it came to the inside of the house. Maisie and Victoria decided to room together while Haley and Taylor snatched the room across from theirs.

It was already one in the morning by the time they found their house. Luckily the plane provided an abundance of snacks that the girls stashed in their bags as they got off the plane. Those snacks didn't last long though because they were gone when they left the cab. To commence the beginning of their vacation, the group opened a couple bottles of sangria and moscato and partied on the deck. Their house was located far enough from the rest of the world so that they wouldn't disturb anyone. This trip started off with a bang and left them all very tired. So tired, that none of them managed to make it to their beds and instead made them knock out on the benches on the porch. The sounds of the waves crashing against the fine sand on the beach guided them into a deep slumber.
