The Devil came to me
He smiled at me with his cold white teeth
"I know you want to die
Give me your soul
You know it's worth your time"
The gun trembled in my hand
I looked in his eyes and I said, "I can't"
I put the gun down slowly
I looked in his eyes and this is what I told him
"It ain't me
I'm not going to be another one
It ain't me
No matter what you say it is not going to be"
The Devil looked me in my eye
His eyes shined red, his fist was balled by his side
His anger shook the room
I still stood up and I knew what to do
I walked over to him slowly
"Just give me your soul, you know your hurting inside"
I knew I didn't need to do it
I looked in his eyes and this is what I told him
"It ain't me
I'm not going to be another one
It ain't me
No matter what you say it is not going to be"
Then the Devil walked away
I finally feel closure
Because I can finally face the day
