Jongdae sat with his head on the desk, a few strands of his chocolate hair escaping the grasp of the gel he'd caked it in. His cheek squished against the desk surface, a contemplative expression on his face as he stared at Jongin and Sehun, seated across the classroom from each other. He huffed: did their plan backfire? Or did this mean that it had worked? It was hard to tell. Weeks had passed by since their suspension; it was the last week of the first term. Sehun had settled in nicely, and despite the rocky start he had, Junmyeon had taken him under his wing. Even Kyungsoo had become fond of the kid.
Though, now, things between Jongin and Sehun weren't so obvious anymore. No one seemed to understand what was going on between them. Ever since the last day of their suspension, they'd been notably weird around each other. It wasn't a full 180 from their routine behaviour, but for, at least, two weeks they didn't talk, no arguments, no nothing — just silence. Slowly, mild bickering returned, but it wasn't anything like before. When Sehun and Jongin quarrelled now, they kept far away from each other, barely blushing like they used to.
It looks like my sexual tension comment had the opposite effect of what was intended, thought Jongdae, pouting slightly. He turned to Jimin, feeling the need to speak to someone about this.
"Do you think something happened between them?"
Jimin shrugged as Jungkook walked over towards the pair. Jongdae scratched the back of his head, looking back at Jongin for a brief moment, still utterly confused by what was happening.
"They just seem so aloof, you know?" He frowned, voice trailing off once he turned back to Jimin who was pinching Jungkook's side as the younger boy towered over him, ruffling his hair.
"Don't be a dickhead, Kook, I'm older than you." He cried, cheeks reddening with annoyance. Jungkook just chuckled, eyes glassing over as if it was the funniest thing on the planet.
"But you're just so tiny and cute."
"Oh haha," Jimin exclaimed sarcastically, jabbing Jungkook, finally getting him to let go, "You might be taller right now, but that's just your freakish genes. Who said I'd stopped growing?"
"Whatever you say, shortie."
Jungkook's comment only made Jimin burst with more rage. Jongdae sighed, turning away to face the front; it seemed Jongin and Sehun weren't the only ones with an underlying tension.
That was when Miss Kwon walked in, and the class calmed down, everyone seating themselves. She didn't speak, taking a marker and beginning to write on the board. When she turned away, there was a wave of excitement that rolled over the room as everyone read the phrase written on the board.
Hero Names
"That's right; you'll be picking your hero names today," Boah stood at the front with her arms crossed, "I want you to take this seriously. Hero names are your entire identity to the public. You should pick something they'll have faith calling on; it's the first step to your real hero debuts once you graduate."
Taemin raised his hand, "You're a pro-hero miss, how'd you pick your name?"
"Well, a friend of mine gave me the idea when she said my capture scarf looked like a snake," She tugged on a little, a small smile on her lips, "So I became Boa, which played off my real name." Running her hand across the desk, she sat down, putting on her glasses, "Now, you've got half an hour to brainstorm, surprise me."
