On our own and forgotten

My escape

I look at my clock and it reads 12:30. I stand up and grab m backpack filled with food and water, a small heavy blanket,flashlight, and all the important stuff. I reach under my bed and grab hair dye. I run into the bathroom and dye my hair bleach blonde, just in case my foster mom tries to come look for me. I grab my stuff and quitly walk down the stairs. I make it to the front door until I hear a low whimper. I look to my left and see killer. Killer is the German Shepard puppy that lives here. He has bright blue eyes and a white little snip at his muzzle. The other day I remember being in the backyard and I see my foster mom kick Killer on the ribs. I wanted to do something but I was to scared to do anything. "I left u alone the other day an I'm not doing it again." I grabbed his leash and opened up his crate. "C'mon lets get going before the beast wakes up." I open the front door and we slip out quitly. We walk a few miles until I see a car come by, I was about to hide until I realized it was my neighbor. "Howdy, what are ya doin out here so late at night?" I explained to him everything that I was doing he nodded his head and told me to hop in real quick. I jumped in the truck and we drove off. "So y r u taking me to ur house?"
"I have something I want to give to u."
"Alright"
We arrived at his house and he took me over to his barn.
"Wait r u giving me a horse."
"I sure am, u pick which horse u want, I'm going to pack u some horse feed, bitless bridle, some brushes and an Iphone."
"Really all of that?!" "U don't have to."
"I know but I want to."
He but everything I'd need to take care of the horse and he handed me a halter and lead rope.
"Alright did ya pick out the horse yet?"
"No not yet I mean uve let me ride all of them before and their all amazing."
"Alright take ur time"
After about 10 minutes I picked out his horse named Kono. He was a stallion, with a white mane and tail and he was an Appaloosa with the colors of grey and buckskin.
"Ahh i see uve picked kono"
"Yep, my favorite horse uve got"
"Alright well ur phone has built in wifi so ull have service wherever and if u ever need me than just type in uncle J and press call and that will be me. I know I'm not ur actuall uncle but u know."
"Yea thxs."
I hugged him and we started walking towards the end of the road.
"Uve riden bareback before and I would give u a saddle and everything but u can't just carry it around or keep it on Kono 24/7 so will u be alright with bareback?"
"Yea I will"
"Alright well u best be on ur way it'll be morning in no time"
"Alright thxs again for everything."
"No problem, bye now"
"Bye"
I jumped on Kono and put on my backpack and cowboy hat. Killers head was sticking out of my backpack as I asked Kono to canter.
"We need a new name for u killer, how about koda?"
"Rrruufff rrrufff"
"Alright koda it is"
We've been walking for hours so I decide to go and find a place for us to rest. I check my phone and see a txt from uncle j.
it read "Hey I have a small little country house about 5 minutes from u, and I know that cuz I have a tracking device on tht phone anyways the address is 330 saddleback road." " U may have the house an txt me when u find it and when u decide to leave it for good, happy traveling"
I laughed as I read it, I set directions to the house and we arrived there in less than 5 minutes.
"Well this is the place."
It was a cute little house that was in perfect condition. I looked around the whole house to make sure no one was already on there. And good thing there wasn't. It was getting late so I brought Kono into a one stall stable in the backyard. I walk back inside the house after I brush Kono down and feed him and I turn on the fireplace and look in the fridge. There's not a whole lot of food in there but I find some chicken that Dosent expire till 2015 so I cook it up an start eating it and I know I brought food but I wanted to save that for when I ditch this place. I grab a water bottle and see that koda is whimpering. I realize he is probably hunger so I fill up a bowl of water and put some dog food on a plate.
"There ya go koda, I don't want u to starve."
He gobbles it all down including the water and crumbs. I'm sitting on the couch finishing up my food when koda jumps onto my lap and sits down and starts to go to sleep. I place my plate of empty food on the table and pull half of the blanket that was on me on koda and I drift to sleep.
