Adam's Unknown Demons

ADAM'S UNKNOWN DEMON (I)

It was a beautiful morning,lovely temperature and the birds were all in their usual singing moods and were flying about close to his window. He found it really strange that the birds were already this active at 6:30am but that was the least of his problem at that time.

He was still half asleep,sleep he found really hard to come by for the past 3days. He always has nightmares most of which felt really real to him. Whenever he woke up,he was covered in a lot of sweat and the bed cover was soaked wet in sweat. This bothered him but never told anyone around about this.

He had just his German Shepherd female dog Peggy since he lost both parents 6years ago and his current girlfriend Alice which he was currently dating for 2years now. Alice was currently staying with him in his home. He had a good office job that paid well and Alice also had a small cloth company she was managing so they were living comfortably and without much worry.

Adam came home late from work one day in a really bad mood and Alice had already prepared dinner for the both of them but Adam wasn't in the mood so they had a little quarrel that night and the food ended up going to waste,Alice chose to sleep at the guest house that night while Adam slept upstairs in their room. Night came so quick and Adam was having his usual problem sleeping but eventually got sleep at 1am and for a moment,he slept peacefully but by the time he woke up,it's still 3am and this didn't seem encouraging for him at all so he tried to force himself to get more sleep by taking 2more sleeping pills.

Within minutes,he was in the dream world but this time he saw himself in his room,Peggy was lying in his arms bleeding from the neck from a deep knife wound. He knelt right beside her watching his only companion close to family die slowing in his arms. It was too much to bear as he could hold back the tears fighting to fall off his already wet eyes. He rose his head to see a woman standing in the shadows with a knife covered in blood,Peggy's blood he thought. His heart pounding and his breathing pace rising fast.

Anger was all he felt at that moment,he spoke softly to the woman standing in the shadows which he couldn't make out her face yet 'Why did you hurt Peggy?' All he could make out from the face of this person was her teeth,which means she was smiling. He couldn't hold in his anger anymore and when he tried to move,the woman made a move for his neck with the knife and just as she was about to cut his throat open,Adam woke up.

He was covered in sweat,bed cover soaked and face expressionless when he got up from bed slowly. He stood up like he was being controlled by something else not himself. He walked straight to the garage down stairs and picked up a screw driver and walked back to the sitting room,he looked around the sitting room searching every angle with his eyes,he heard a noise from the kitchen. He turned towards the direction of the kitchen and walked towards the door like a human with barely a life present.

It was 5:30am and Alice was already up trying to clean up the kitchen and prepare breakfast for the both of them when she turned to look at the door only to see Adam standing at the door. Scared the life out of her but she regained control after a short while and that was when she saw the look on Adams face and this made her feel really uncomfortable.

Adam's face was without expression,eyes a bit red and swollen. His hair was scattered and his face was going white. Alice looked scared but still managed a smile that moment and spoke first. Adam,are you okay? You don't look well. What is the problem?

She got no response from Adam until after a moment Adam spoke: Alice,why did you kill my Dog? Alice looked really confused that moment and could think of what to respond back with. Adam walking slowly towards her until he was close enough to collect the plate she was holding and let in fall to the ground.

Before Alice could think of what to say then, Adam asked again: Why did you hurt my dog? It was already too late by the time Alice noticed the screw driver in Adam's hand. Within split seconds,the screw driver was planted deep into Alice's head,the only think she could think of before she was swallowed by darkness was: why? Adam.

Her body was lying lifeless on the kitchen floor,blood gushing out of her head. Adam stared at the lifeless body and after a brief moment,he got his consciousness back and when he realized what he had done,his eyes were open in shock,arms shaking and body vibrating. Alice was dead and he just killed her in his own kitchen.

Just then,Peggy strolled into the kitchen and just then he got a flash back of the dream he had of Peggy being dead and he looked back at Alice on the floor and he began to weep uncontrollably. Just then it occurred to him: His childhood demon had come back and it was powerful enough to influence his dream to make it look and feel real.

Adam's unknown Demon was back!
