The fifth period class dragged on for what seemed like forever as Mrs. Brown rambled, half the time this lady didn't even know what she was talking about. "So a positive plus a negative... no wait that's wrong a negative..." She said, her obnoxious voice carrying throughout our small classroom. I laughed under my breath as Bobby, the class know it all raised his hand. "No Mrs B. the answer would be 0." He spoke, the whole class groaning. He always corrected the teachers but yet they all loved him. I thought, although he was one of my best guy friends, that he was a bit concieted, the way he always flipped his hair and flashed his brown eyes expecting girls to fall head-over-heels in love with him. Everyone thought I liked him but the thought of that just made me laugh. Honestly, I would've thought about dropping out of AP math if it wasn't for sitting next to Liza. Liza was my best friend. Always had been, always will be. We were kind of in different social groups. She tended to hang out with the quieter, nerdier and artistic group (even though when you got to know the real Liza, she NEVER shuts up) and I stayed with the popular, sporty girls.

I snapped back into reality as Mrs. Brown handed out our work sheets and assigned us partners. "Let's see hm.." she thought out loud, her glasses dangling off the bridge of her nose. "Bobby and Grace you'll be working together, Liza and Danny, Mira and Connor..." I looked around the room and laughed again. Of course out of the 32 people in our class I had to work with the person I liked and Liza worked with the one she liked too. And he knew I did. Butterflies erupted in my stomach as I took my place next to him. He had a smug little smile on his face as we got started on our work, me and Liza looking at each other periodically, just wishing we could work together. The struggle I thought. But Connor was Connor. A very... nervous Connor? "What's up Connor, you seem like something's bothering you." I asked. He flashed that smile again oh that smile and looked at me, his blue meeting my own. Tom, his best friend, looked at Connor and winked and I could feel my cheeks turn red, as they always did. Seeing Liz on her phone beside me, I pulled out my own and shot her a text.
Liza help something's happening with Connor and TomShe turned around in her seat, smirking as she gave me a stare that read, there's nothing I can do. Tom and Lucas, along with my other friends Cate and Emma were Liz's neighbors, and after countless sleepovers at her house I'd known them well too. "Ladies and Gentlemen you guys didn't remind me class was over and now your late. Way to go." Mrs. B complained and we all groaned again. I scurried out of class as fast as I could, heading to the last class of the day, crashing into Connor again on the way out. "Mira...can I ask you something?" he asked. I nodded quickly noticing the gaggle of boys surrounding him. "Will you go out with me?"
