"This is ridiculous!" Chunhei stomped the floor with her left foot, making a loud

clack reverberate through the halls. "Why can't we just stay while they do one part of the school

at a time?"

Chunsook shut my locker and look at her. "Because if someone got sick, they could sue the

school. And considering we have black mold, we obviously don't have the money for that."

Hyejin brushes her hair back behind her shoulder before pushing her glasses up. "Can we get

out of here already? I don't want to get sick." She brushes off her clothes as though it was

growing on them and frowned.

Chunsook nodded her head and pulled her black puffer jacket closer to her chest. It was always way

too cold in the winter here. she shook her key fob in front of Chunhei. "Hope you said your

goodbyes."

She pats her locker and sighs before pulling off the lock on it. "I guess."

The three of them walked out to Chunsook's mini red slug bug. they had been friends since

forever. Their plan was to graduate high school and go to college together but it seemed as

though lately everything had been going wrong.

They were supposed to go to a new high school depending on where they lived. There were

three choices but had all decided on Joondong, one of the most prestigious high schools in

South Korea.

She pulled into her driveway and turned off her car as they all headed indoors. Slipping their

shoes off on the porch, they headed inside.

"Hey girls!" Omma shouted from the kitchen. It always smelled good these days. She was super

excited that her mom was cooking again ever since her dad...

Chunhei snapped her fingers twice twice in front of Hyejin's face. "Chunsook, you there?"

She shook her head and headed upstairs with them. They both plopped down on my bed and

started talking about what they would do tomorrow at our new high school. she turned on her

TV and clicked Netflix.

"I'm getting in the shower, don't start Love Alarm without me," she said while walking to the

bathroom. she swiftly got out of her school uniform and turned on the water. she stopped and

looked in the mirror for a few seconds before jumping in the shower. she had always thought

she looked average until school started. she figured out how to use makeup correctly and she

had let her black hair grow past her shoulders. she usually always got it cut a little under her

neck but she just didn't bother since the accident. If she smiled like she meant it, a dimple would

appear on my right cheek but that hasn't happened in a while either. she had more shape in her

legs since she started running to escape everything.

In the shower, she couldn't help but wonder if anyone had noticed if she was any different from
