My parents were brutely murdered on a cold Febuary night. They had gone out to diner like they did every Wednesday, because I got out of school early, and I was sent to bed an hour earlier. My best friend Ronnie was spending the night that night, so we stayed up later than my parents allowed me to when I had a friend over. Ronnie's parents were out of town on a business trip, so they had asked my parents if she could stay here. We could both drive, and it was break, so we went out to meet some friends at a bon-fire. There was no snow on the ground, and it wasn't as cold as it usually was in Feburary. As we were driving up to a secret spot that we had always had the bon-fires, we came across my parents car parked on the side of the road. Both doors were open, like they had left in a rush.

"Serenity, isn't that your parent's car?" Ronnie asked me squenting her eyes to make sure it was the right car.

"I think." I said pulling over behind it.

"Are you sure it is theirs?" Ronnie asked shifting in her seat to get a better look at my now pale face.

"Yeah, that is my mother's car, the license plate match." I said opening the door.

"Serenity, where are you going? What if there is some murderer out here, lets just get out of here." Ronnie said grabbing my arm trying to hold me back.

"No, I want to see what is going on, they wouldn't just leave their car like this. Something fishy is going on, and I am going to figure out what." I said slamming the door to my truck.

"Then I am coming up with you." She said bailing out of the truck. We walked to the car together.

"Look, everything is scadered, like they were forced out of the car." Ronnie said grabbing the GPS that we didn't use that was now on the ground out side of the car.

"Yeah, it is wierd. They must of left in a rush. Or maybe they saw something and went to go get it." I said trying to keep the options open.

"Serenity, you might want to come see this!" Ronnie yelled from behind the car.

"What, what is i-' I was cut off at the sight of blood on the ground behind the still running car.

"Do you think it is?" Ronnie asked looking away.

"There is a flashlight in the center conseul of my truck, will you get it please." I asked her looking closer at the marks on the car and the ground. Doing a complete circle around the car ,examining all that had been either missing or for something that had not been there before.

"Here is the flash light." She said handing me the flash light I had named Big Blue.

"Thank you." I said in deep concentration. I started to walk away, into the deep woods that was just outside of town.

"Serenity, where are you going?" Ronnie asked following me.

"Something is wrong. Something wierd is going on. Haven't you seen everything that is wrong with the car, the are so may scratches and stains on it." I said pointing to the passenger side of the car where all the scratches had been.

"Wow, has that been there before?" Ronnie asked in shock at seeing the scratches.

"No, this is the first time I have seen them." I said trying to jump over the ditch.

"Serenity, where are you going?" Ronnie ran after me.

"I told you, there is something going on here, and I am going to figure out what is going on." I said turning on the flashlight.

"Then I am coming with you." She said hoping the ditch and grabbing my hand. Walking together, we walked farther into the woods.

"Serenity! What is that? Is that a hand?' Ronnie asked pointing at something that was just barely in the light of the flashlight.
