Lianne Angelita Hacinto
Sometimes, I need to remind myself that despite it's good reputation, Everleigh Institutes is still a school. And school is the definition of Hell.
It's been five days since I came here and tell you what, it's not very different from regular class. I mean, the system's kind of the same, just more extreme. Teachers give us homework, groupworks, seat works, quizzes, and a shit ton of projects we have to pass by the end of the month. We have activities for every subject. And it's just the first week! Why did I choose to study here again?
Sighing, I dropped my head on my notebook as my classmates started going out of class. Expectedly, these guys weren't fazed by the actions of the professors. All of them were used to it. It wasn't as if the projects were hard anyway, but still!
"Are you going to the party tomorrow, Lianne?" Looking up, an adorable bean looms over me. I quickly sat up. "Is it necessary?" I asked Carlos who was helping me fix my things. Carlos nodded and said, "It's the first party of the school year. Being there means you belong in EI. If you don't attend, you'll be treated differently. Class 3-Gamma keeps tabs on everyone." I just hummed in response and walked out the door with him.
See, we developed this routine where we would walk back to the dorms together and Carlos would help me get my stuff together because I'm known to be lazy and slow. Just kidding, I'm neither lazy nor slow, Carlos just likes fixing my notebooks. We don't eat lunch together though. I still sit beside Mariya and Xio, and Carlos with his friends. I don't know why, but it's easy to hang out with Carlos. He has this friendly, and charming side that just leaves you in awe. Honestly, Carlos is the ideal best friend, and boyfriend material rolled into one.
"So, is there a theme for the party or is it just a normal get-together party?" I asked Carlos as we pass by the library. "Class 3-Gamma parties are never normal but yeah, you can wear anything you want. Go for casual though, it'll make you stand out less." Carlos replied and smiled down at me.
"You make it sound like Class 3-Gamma students are to be feared." I jokingly said, raising my eyebrows at Carlos. "Everyone crazy enough to enroll here is to be feared. Class 3-Gamma's just less hidden than the other classes. Mess them up and your life will be torture. They may be the lowest class but their connections and tricks are better than most. A lot of fun people are in there though." Carlos laughed but I wasn't amused one bit. "What about Class 2-Beta?"
"Class 2-Beta is a section full of stereotypes. They have it all. The nerds, the geeks, the silent psychopaths, the narcissistic sociopaths, the punks, the spoiled and rich brats, the emo kids, the know-it-alls, basically every category you would put someone in, they have it. Which also means they're the loudest section. They fight a lot. If Class 3-Gamma's known for its unity and insane parties, Class 2-Beta's famous for their class fights and debates. They always have an opinion for everything. It's really annoying for the student council." Carlos sighed heavily. I patted his back.
"But they still deserve to be in EI, right?" I asked. Carlos gave me a creepy but somewhat funny look. "Of course, they may be jerks and annoying pricks but they're cunning and smart. Most of the competitors for local academic and extracurricular contests are taken from Beta, because our class is lazy in some ways. The balance would be broken if Class 1-Alpha took it all" He said and chuckled, looking at a distance, We turned to an empty hallway. Suddenly, a snicker was heard from behind us. I quickly turned my head. That voice was oddly familiar. Oh, wait, I know who that voice belongs to. I thought I wasn't going to see him for a while. Best five days of my life.
