These characters are mine and are actually a part of a much bigger story that is unfinished. This was just a short one shot for me to get more comfortable with their characters in an AU of sorts.

Jade did not imagine that she would spend her Friday night at a nice restaurant with six guys whom further proved to her just how much of a lesbian she was. However, as soon as her mother told her that her father was having some of his business partners and their families over, she knew that her night would not be ideal. Her seventeen year old cousin, Nickolas, was having a blast with the other boys. Jade wasn't allowed to miss the dinner because, even though she was a grown ass 21 year old, her mother didn't want her to seem rude, and she wanted her to keep an eye on Nickolas.
They were shown to their table, and Jade made sure to get a seat at the end of the table and to save a seat for Chrystal, who was bound to be late. Though Chrystal's parents weren't her father's business partners, they were family friends, and Chrystal was Jade's closest friend. Their fathers met while working in Singapore, and both families moved to the United States for business at around the same time. Right now, Chrystal was Jade's only salvation from having to sit back and hear whatever stupid thing the sons of her father's business partners had to say. Unfortunately, all of their daughters were either away or much too young.
Jade's phone vibrated, and she looked down, expecting a text from Chrystal. Instead, she was greeted with a text from her mother.
Mama (6:12 PM): Remember to pay the check. Don't let the others pay, ya?
Jade texted back that she would. This was a common occurrence when she was around family friends or her parents' business partners. Someone always took the check for everyone. It didn't help that her parents were hosting the dinner, and her mother's Chinese Sinaporean hospitality took over. She opened her chat with Chrystal.
JJ (6:12 PM): You better be on your way
Seconds later, her phone vibrated with a reply.
My Main Bitch (6:13 PM):Calm your tits, I'm leaving right now
Jade groaned knowing that probably meant that Chrystal was still getting ready. She rolled her eyes at the contact name that she was too lazy to change after Chrystal had named herself in Jade's contacts. Her phone vibrated again with another message from Chrystal.
My Main Bitch (6:13 PM): Is auntie and uncle paying?
Jade texted back that they were.
My Main Bitch (6:14 PM):Eyyy then order the salmon with the mashed potatoes for me pleaseeeee
My Main Bitch (6:14 PM): AND REMEMBER THAT I WANT THE ASPARAGUS TO BE BUTTERED
"Hello, welcome to Delight. My name is Emma, and I'll be serving you guys today." Jade looked up mid text in time to see blonde hair from the corner of her eye as Emma placed a menu in front of her and continued to do so until everyone had their own menu. "Our specials and our chef's choice for today are all on the pamphlet at the beginning. Can I get you guys started on drinks?"
Jade sat up straighter when she finally saw Emma's face. Damn women and their insane ability to be beautiful. Emma's blond hair fell in waves past her shoulders. Her dark uniform fitted her nicely, and her lips were a nice shade of pink. Jade has always been praised for her green eyes that stood out even more because of her mixed Eurasian features, but looking at how shiny and bright Emma's brown eyes looked made her wonder if her green eyes ever shine as brightly. Emma caught her eye and smiled at Jade, and Jade felt her mouth go dry. Just as quickly as she had looked at her, Emma turned to look at the rest of the table, giving Jade a clear view of her defined jawline. She had never seen a jawline look so defined and soft at the same time. Emma wrote down the orders as the boys told her. Jade could see the boys eyeing Emma up, but if Emma noticed it, she didn't acknowledge it.
