Chapter III

"I can't believe you really pushed through on leaving me."

"Seriously Sab, it's not like we're countries away. Ateneo's literally 20km from Uste" I argued.

"But still."

"You're such a baby." Sab and I have been together almost all of our lives. Kung saan siya nagaaral dun din ako, saan siya mapapadpad, andon din ako. Sab is 6 months older than me pero we treat each other like we're the same age. Mas comfortable.

"Fine, pero you can't stop me setting you up with Atenean guys."

"Whatever Sab."

Its been a week since Klaus visited us and we have 3 days left before the first day of school so we're making the most of it. Also, Klaus' birthday is today and we're on the way to the beach.

I wore a square-necked flared floral jumpsuit with hoop earrings and Sab wore a navy v-necked semi sequin jumpsuit and pearl earrings. We also both have our shades on.

"Where's Louie by the way?" Sab asked.

"Andon na, tagal mo kasi magising." I replied.

"Sus kahit naman maaga ako magising, matagal ka naman mag ayos." She argued back.

I raised my arms as a sign of defeat. Wala talagang araw na hindi kami nagbabangayan. Come to think of it, wala namang tama sa argument namin. Its a sibling thing i guess.

I reached for the chips on the backseat kasi Sab's driving this time. She lost on rock-paper-scissors, too bad.

"Do you think Van will be there? Isn't Klaus mad at him? " Sab asked.

"Hindi ko alam eh, I think he'll be there. Klaus doesn't seem mad eh, I don't know why though." I replied.

"Grabe, paano si Louie? For all I know hindi pa din siya over dun eh."

"Come on Sab, kilala mo yon si Collins, she'll sort it out." I answered.

After an hour and a half, we reached Batangas. Klaus' family owns a resort, family business nila yon. Kaya they built a guesthouse near it and dun gaganapin yung celebration. This also feels like a summer-end party kaya Klaus decided na sa beach siya magbirthday.

Pinaikot-ikot muna kami ng Waze bago kami makarating . Pahina na kasi ng pahina signal, naligaw tuloy kami.

"Ang tagal niyo! Tanghali na." Klaus yelled at us from the second floor. Bumaba siya para salubungin kami. Pumasok naman kami sa loob as soon as we saw Louie.

"Afternoon pa naman yung default na start ng celeb ah?" Sab told him.

"Hindi naman kayo bisita, staff kayo staff." Klaus replied. Even though sabi niya staff daw kami, I can spot a few helpers around.

"Mangagamit ka, F.O na, user, traitor, plastic." Sabi ko sakaniya.

"Labyu Bea." Luh.

"Bea amp shoo." I replied.

"Tara na doon tama na yan, tulungan na natin mag setup don si Louie." Hinila ako ni Sab papunta kay Louie sa may beach front para magayos ng tables.

"Kinilig ka dun 'no?" Siniko ako ni Sab at pinagtaasan ng kilay.

"Tumahimik ka." Tinanggal ko yung kapit niya sakin at umaktong nandiri sa sinabi niya.

She just laughed at me and ran towards Louie.

"Hey Klaus, we brought chips and cola. May samgyupsal din diyan, inorder ni Hayley." pahabol na sigaw ni Sab sakaniya.
