Hitchhiker

Aftermath.

Waking up the next morning, looking at the bathroom mirror Olivia felt bolder, wilder, happy and more importantly free. Blake was still sound asleep and she didn't know how she was going to face him after last night but one thing she was sure of, she didn't have any regrets.

She exited the bathroom to find him sitting on the bed with only a sheet covering his lower part, she blushed furiously to which he noticed and smiled

“Good morning” he said his voice raspy sending a shiver down her back

“Morning” she managed taking more steps into the room to her bags

Blake could see she was a little uncomfortable and he did not want to make it harder for her, he got up from the bed wrapping the sheet around his lower part although a little part of him wanted to prance around naked to see her reaction

“I’ll just take a quick shower the well have breakfast and we can hit the road. Is that okay with you?”He asked

“Yeah sure” Olivia said sparing him only a single glance

He looked at her a few seconds more then headed for the bathroom. As soon as the door closed Olivia let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding

“Oh my God” she whispered placing her hands on her cheeks which were warmer than usual, she was sure she was blushing like an idiot

“Get a hold of yourself Olivia” she said slapping her cheeks then stood up to get dressed.

And it was how he said it, after they were dressed and had their bags they went down for breakfast exchanging fewer words and more of silence.

There was this awkwardness lingering around them and Olivia felt like she'd suffocate soon.

After breakfast they resumed their journey and this time having him so close and in the small space made her jumpy, nervous and awkward all the more.

Blake noticed and as much as he wanted to cut into the awkward silence he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable, he just wanted to wait until she was comfortable with him once more.

Olivia couldn’t take the awkward silence but was too chicken to do anything so she faked sleep hoping and praying he didn’t catch on

“I know you’re not asleep Olivia” his voice cut into the silence making her almost jump out of her skin, after so much silence him speaking freaked her out.

It’s been two hours now since they began riding and now they had entered the city and in like forty five minutes Olivia knew they’d part ways

“Ooh….” was all she said

Way to go Olivia!

She wanted to hit herself

“I’m really sorry if after last night you feel uncomfortable around me but I’d really like if we could just get rid of this awkwardness between us” Blake said briefly glancing at her

“Yeah I know, me too id like that. I feel like I could suffocate” Olivia said finishing with a laugh making Blake smile

“Do you regret what happened between us?”He asked

“No” she didn’t have to think about it
