The Space Underwater

Prologue

The ocean is still, calm and free. It's vast but small, cold but warm. But due to certain circumstances, its waves slashes through life, making you feel lost. But, it also leads you to many different places.

Mariveles, Bataan, Philippines; 3 years earlier

'Bro! Come here now! It's really not that scary!' Jaxtin's words as he tries to confirm things with his twin. 'What are you even scared of?'

'Now, now. This is not the right time to mumble such words. You don't know how scared I am right now!' Justin, Jaxtin's twin exclaimed. They are currently at the beach, celebrating Jaxtin's victory in the swimming competition with their friends.

Jaxtin is holding his twin in both hands to prevent him from stumbling or getting even scared. They are reaching the deep part of the ocean when suddenly, Justin fell due to a low part of the sand, making him disapper.

'Justin!' Jax shouted as he lifted his twin and hugged him while laughing. Justin was gasping for air first, then felt then felt safety on his twin's arms.

'You're safe now. Don't worry' Jax's words while rubbing Jus's head. 'Don't be scared. You know that I will always save you, no matter what. Even if it cost my life' Jax's words of assurance. Jus then lifted his head and stared at his twin.

'Okay, let's go to the shore now and take some rest. Don't be a crybaby' Jax laughed before getting a hard slap on his back. Jus rolled his eyes and glared at his twin. Jax is holding his twin in his arms and waist while assisting him up to the shore.

'Come on now guys! Let's get this party started!' their friends exclaimed. Then, glass bottles started to clang, the sand became colorful due the lights, and you can hear shouting and laughing already.

Justin, however, is really not onto parties. He sat at the chair at the end of the car and stared at the ocean blankly.

'My brother always comfort me whenever I feel down or sad. He always do his job so perfectly, so flawless. While I remain the younger twin that is always unreliable'  he mumbled. He looked at his brother, making fun with his frienda while drunk. He smiled and looked down. He always knew that his twin is the favorite kid since he exels almost in everything.

He then stood up and walked towards the water. 'I need to do this. I need to prove to myself that I can also do things like my brother. That my parents can also be proud of me. I'll start things by beating my phobia'  He continued to walk in the water, his knees kicking into the water while his thighs freezes in cold. He still is trembling since he is seriously scared. Things popping up on his mind. His right part of head keeps motivating him that he can do it but the picture of something pulling him down makes his knees vibrate like crazy.

'No. I can do this' he stopped for a bit to breath some air, but closed his eyes and gradually took alternating steps. Without any more gasping, he is already at the deep part of the ocean. The current still feels like taking him away but when he opened his eyes, he saw the moon and this miraculously calmed him down. The feeling as if his twin is there with him, holding his arms, is present.

'I did it! Ahaha' he laughed uncontrollably while droplets of tear fell dwon from his cheeks. But, after that, he noticed something. 'Where are the stars?'

Back at the beach, lights still turning and the beat still bouncing, Jaxtin came back to his senses and noticed something. 'Guys, hey wake up. It's going to rain soon. Pack up now' he stood from the sand and took his turn on fetching things up.

'Wait, where's my twin?' everyone shooked their heads, motioning thtmat they don't know. 'Where could he be? Justin! Justin!' he shouted from the shore. He walked onto the water, still shouting his twin's name. But a might roar of lightning dashed from the sky, continued by ravishing cold winds that is seemed too powerful.

'There's a storm! Why did no one told us about this?' one of his friends said while looking at his phone.

'No. Justin! Justin!' Jax continued but a lot stronger now. He can't find his brother anywhere and this made him frantic. The waves started to slash through. He then heard something from the deep parts of the ocean.

'Jax! Jaxtin! Ahh!' a flash of lightning emerged from the sky, making Jax enable to see his little twin, being swallowed by the waves. 'Justin!!' without any hesitation, Jax ran and swam in the ocean to get his brother.

'Jax! No!' their team leader shouted, fearing that he might not be able to save his brother's life due to the strong crashing of waves.

Without any minute, Jax held his twin already on his arms, lifting him as much as he could. Then, two of his friends dived deep and successfully took Justin. They hurriedly swam right back since Justin fell unconscious.

'Ahh' while scurrying back to the shore, Jax felt a sting from his head down to his toes. Right after that, he can't move his feet anymore. No parts of his body were movable, leaving him paralyzed and was gulped by the ocean.

'Perform CPR now!' one exclaimed. They are currently reviving Justin since no signs of alive is present. They pumped his chest, alternating numbers spoken. 'Wait, where is Jaxtin!?'

Four of them looked back and noticed that Jax is missing. 'Get back and find him!' then after that, they heard Jax's last word before emerging down in deep. They hurriedly swam back again, trying to fight the waves.

Sprouts of water came from Justin's mouth, meaning of survival. But still, unconscious but his eyes were open already. Gasping for air, he searches for answers, nothing on his mind right now. He then felt something was laid down, his twin. He saw people reviving his twin. He tried his best to reach his twin's hands that were insanely cold. 'Jax'

'Sir, he's gone'
