Staring at the ceiling, sunlight slowly pours into the room filling it up brightly. I turn to my side as I spot two blank eyes staring at me, the sight of such a thing sends chills to my spine. Screaming at the top of my lungs, I press my back against the wall and soon realise it was just Reii.

"Fufufu, Nii-nii has a cute sleepy face."

"It's rude to enter someone's room without their permission, Reii."

With a sigh and long prolonged yawn I hop off.

"I know but I thought I should warn you about the time.~"

She points directly at the clock, and if I'm reading it right. School starts in about ten minutes.

"Ahh! I'm going to be late, no, we're going to be late!"

Being late on your first day doesn't make a good first impression. I quickly leap into the wash room to ready up.

"You were sleeping so peacefully, so I thought it'd be rude to wake you up.~"

"I would appreciate it if you woke me up. Slap me if you have to!" I cry out.

"Roger.~" She smiles taking having no second thoughts.

"I wasn't being serious, where's Dad?"

"He left for work already, breakfast is still downstairs as well as the lunch money. After that we can walk to school together like we did before!~"

It was odd that Reii wasn't at all worried about the time.

Being in so much of a rush, I should of just started school next week. So I can get my whole bearings, it was a premature decision on my end, but I couldn't help it.

Fixing my uniform and sweep my bag upon my shoulder and rush down stairs as Reii holds up a paper bag.

"Your miso soup got cold so I placed it back in the fridge.~ Now all you have is melon bread."

"I'll eat it later, right now we're going to run!" I say putting on my shoes.

"Uyuu... But it's too early for that~! Loosen up a little Nii-nii! What could hurt being late for a few minutes?"

"Hah... Just walk quickly okay?"

She sticks her tongue out.

"Ehehe, well come on lets go!~" She yells cheerfully whilst holding onto my arm.

A completely different girl from what I remembered.

"Mmm you know, I've always dreamed of this. Nii-nii, being back home and all. It was a bit lonely without you."

We slowly walk down the footpaths near the road as the wind blows by making the small dried up leaves ratter as it passes by.

"Ahaha, well you don't have to worry about that now.~"

We have to rely on each other after all.

Crossing roads and walking pass numerous people, I could feel a lot of eyes on us. I don't think they realise that we're just siblings. We don't look anything alike after all, her brown hair was inherited from Dad, whilst I took on after my Mom's silver hair.

"Reii, could you perhaps let go now? People are starting to stare at us... in more ways than one."

"Ufufu, no can do.~"

Now resting her head against my arm, she was giggling.

"Then at least get off by the time we're at school."

I was a bit frustrated, but I wasn't exactly blaming her. It was fortunate enough that she's indifferent about all of this. I was afraid that she'd avoid me and say that she doesn't have a brother at all.
