I woke up to the sound of my new alarm clock beside my bed. I sat up leaning onto the headboard, thinking of that guy who was staring right back at me. How long had he been watching me? I then realized that I had to get new curtains for my window. I really wanted to know what was wrong with that guy since he had really red and puffy eyes. Is it just me or it is weird to see a guy crying? I know they have feelings too but.. ah, whatever. I really want to figure out what's bugging that poor soul of his. Or maybe he's just one of those emo kids like whom I see on TV.
I took another long shower just thinking about how was my life here in Bradford going to be. Would I fit in? Considering that I've never been to a school before all my life. I was also kinda happy because my parents told me I wouldn't be homeschooled here. Maybe now, I could actually make some friends and talk to humans instead of Siri or the walls of my room. Trust me, I'm not weird.
I got out of the shower putting on whatever was on the top of my luggage. I was really lazy to unpack so I decided to head down stairs to have breakfast with my parents. I had to thank them for giving me such luxury here.
I hopped down the stairs to see that my mum had already baked fresh pancakes and they were ready to be served. I then realized that I hadn't eaten since last night. I walked over to the table taking a seat beside my dad. I was about to stuff a large piece into my mouth when my dad said
'Good morning, Abby. I really hope you like it here. Just to remind you that you'll be starting school tomorrow'.
I'm starting tomorrow? But isn't that a little too fast? Like we just got here yesterday. I decided not to argue and just answer my dad.
'Oh okay, dad. Yeah, I do like this place a lot. Thank you for my wonderful room', I said flashing him a bright smile.
'Steven, what do you think about visiting the neighbors? They seem like nice people when I saw them early this morning', my mom said chirping in.
Oh no. Visiting the neighbors? That meant I had to see that weird emo kid. I wonder how he's family is like. I know I'm very mean to be calling him an emo kid without knowing what's going on with his life and all blah blah. I was interrupted from my thoughts when my dad called my name. Shit, I wasn't listening. I tend to get carried away a lot.
'So Abby, what'd ya say? Wanna come with us? I mean to visit our neighbors?'.
'She has to come! She has to meet them too. They're the ones who are going to help us to look after her when we're out, am I right honey?', my mom said leaving me with no choice.
'Uh yeah, lemme just go change. Give me a sec', I said as I stood up.
As I entered my room, I let out a huge sigh looking at the amount of unpacking I had to do. I had no choice but to throw on whatever that was on the top of my luggage. I was really lazy to rummage my luggage to find perfect clothing. Luckily I had a cute black dress which hugged my body perfectly just on the top. I mentally thanked god for helping me. I put on my dress and decided to go with a pair of boots which perfectly matched my dress.
Being a person who preferred simplicity over layers and layers of make-up on my face, I just applied a thin layer of eye liner and some lipstick. I tied my brown locks into a pony tail so it would be more neater. I glanced at the mirror one last time before heading downstairs.
My mom had already packed some pancakes for the neighbors. I grabbed my phone which was on the counter and walked outside. My dad was already waiting there. He wore a blue button up shirt with some cream colored khaki pants. My mom came out a few moments later wearing a black dress; almost similar to mine with some Jimmy Choo heels. She's obsessed with them, I have no idea why.
