"It's weird. You know?"

After dropping Mia off I went to school. Nothing new happened there. Although Dom and I pretty much avoided each other the whole day and Vince definitely noticed. Unlike Mia though, he didn't say anything. Only once did speak to each other. He told me he was going with Vince and to pick up Mia. And somehow even that was awkward.

I pull up to Mia's school and see her standing there waiting. As soon as she sees me she comes over.

"Hey." She says as she opens the door and climbs in.

"Hey."

"You two haven't made up yet." She says confidently as she closes the door and puts her seatbelt on.

"We have not." I confirm while pulling away.

After a few minutes of silence I relize I don't know where I'm taking Mia.

"Where are you going? Home or the market?" I ask silently hoping for the second one.

First because that's one place for me to go. And second because that means less of a chance of Dom being there.

"The market. I have to work." She says like she'd rather be somewhere else.

I nod my head.

"I hear you." I tell her and she smiles.

The rest of the ride was quite. We get there and I see Vince's car. Maybe that means Dom isn't working. But wait Dom was riding with Vince.

I park and Mia and I get out. We head in and I see both Vince and Dom at the counter. I also see one customer waiting at the register.

"I'll go take care of that lady." Mia tells me referring to the person waiting.

I nod my head.

"I'll be in the back." I tell her before we go our separate ways.

I get to the back and start looking around for something to do. It's mostly just boxes and crates of different things back here. When I can't think of anything I take a seat on one of the crates. I put my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands.

What now? I can't avoid him forever? And I don't want to either. I just want things to go back to the way they were. But they wouldn't. They can' t. I can't pretend it didn't happen because it did. If I'm being honest I think I'm in some way happy it happened? I don't know. I think I'm driving myself crazy over this. Maybe I'm making this a way bigger deal than it needs to be. There's no reason for me to hide back here. There's no reason for me to avoid him. Everything is fine. Right? Right.

With this random burst of confidence I get up and stroll out of the back and into the store. I don't see Mia but I do see the two guys still at the counter. I decide to find Mia and see if she needs any help. It's not like either of them are going to do anything anytime soon.

I find her in one of the aisles.

"Need any help?" I ask and she barely looks over.

She doesn't say anything and I stand there unsure of what to do. After a minute she stops what she is doing and looks over at me.

"I'm actually done. But I am hungry. Want to eat?" She offers and I consider my options.

Either hide out in the back or one of the aisles. Or go up and deal with it now before things get worse. Plus I am kind of hungry.

"Sure. Why not." I say with a shrug.

"How was school?" I ask as we walk over to the kitchen(which is behind the counter).

"Fine. Boring." She says and I'm a little surprised. Mia is one of the few people who actually likes school. Or at least she likes learning.

"How come?" I ask curious and confused.
