It's pitch black across the room as I sit up. I think it's early in the morning, but I can't tell. If there are windows on this room I'm in, I wouldn't know. No light is entering the room, and the only visible light source is a tiny orange light to my right. I feel confused. How early is it? Where am I? I reach my hands out and feel a soft surface around me. I'm in a bed. Is this bed mine? Am I alone in this room? I look around, trying to let my eyes adjust to the darkness. As I do, I am able to identify the outline of what must be a small set of drawers to the right of the bed, the same spot the orange light is coming from. I slowly extend my arm to try and feel for what the light source is, and find it's only a cable, with a tiny light at the end. I put the cable down and continue to feel around the desk, for whatever this cable may be connected to. My hand bumps into a small object, about the same size as my hand. It has plastic outsides with a glass top. A mobile phone most likely. I feel around the object for any buttons, and press down on the first one I feel. As I do, a small white Apple appears on it's glass surface. Thank god, I'll finally be able to see around this room and try figure out where I am. I pick up the mobile phone and position it in front of me as I wait for it to turn on.
It takes a few moments, but finally the screen lights up. On it, is a photo of a man, with a girl burying her face into his chest, her arms around his neck. I can't make out any of her features, apart from a few locks of blonde hair hanging out from under her hood. The man has sleek black hair, short, with a very unique style to it that I can't quite put my finger on. They look happy together. I try to open the phone, but am shown presented with a passcode screen, requiring a 4 digit code. I decide not to input any codes, just incase I lock the owner out of their phone. I go back to the lock screen and swipe up, and turn on the phone's flashlight. Suddenly, the room lights up around me. I cover my eyes for a few moments to stop the light from hitting them, and when I lower my arm, I can see around the room with ease. The room isn't too large. The bed is located at the centre of the room, below a window, with a side table on the right. There is a desk on the opposite wall to the bed, and on it is a couple of monitors and a PC. Whoever's room this is, they must have put a lot of time into whatever they do.
After a few more moments of scanning the room, I finally decide to get up. I slide out of bed, slowly, and look down at myself. I'm in my underwear, and a pair of pants are on the floor beside the bed. I step into the pants and pull them up, and look around to see if there is a shirt to go along with them, with no luck. I look back at the bedside table and find a pair of keys, and a beanie. I decide to take them both, putting the beanie on my head and the keys in my pocket. I then turn towards the door, and go to take a few steps. My legs feel numb and tingly, and I lose my balance, falling to the floor. I lay on the floor for a moment, dazed, and sit back up. So many things are going through my head. How long have I been out? What happened to me? Why can't I recall where I am? As my mind continues to race, a noise comes from the other side of the door, a light knocking. My eyes jump to the door, but I don't say word. I have no idea who is on the other side of that door, and I'm anxious to find out. Is it the blonde haired girl? Is it the guy with the black hair? Is it someone I know, that can tell me where I am?
Then, while I sit here contemplating whether or not to try arm myself, the door opens slowly. I watch the door, and after a few seconds, a girl pops her head into the doorway.
"Oh hey, you're finally up" she smiles. "I thought you were dead, if I'm being honest."
Her face isn't familiar. She has dark skin, long black hair, and it's messy, as if she's just recently woken up. I must have woken her up.
"Who... are you?" I ask, confused. "Do I know you?"
She laughs to herself, and smiles. "Honestly, I was going to ask you the same thing. I don't have the slightest idea who you are" she admits. "And for some reason, you don't have a wallet or anything on you apart from your phone."
I look down at my phone and then quickly back to her. "Wait so, how did I end up here then?" I ask, still confused.
"I carried you here, to my place" she explains. "The club isn't that far."
I stare at her blankly, and think for a second. I have no memory of a club, that I can recall. "Club? What club?" I ask, confused.
"You seriously don't remember any of last night?" She laughs. "Don't tell me you were so drunk you forgot!"
"I seriously don't remember a single thing about what happened last night. I assume we met at this club?" I question.
"Yeah, but I don't think we ever exchanged names" she explains. "I'm Rose, Nice to meet you again!"
I stare at her for a minute, trying to register her name. It doesn't ring any bells.
"Aaaand you are?" She persists.
"Oh yeah right, I'm..." I start, but then stop myself. The realisation starts to set in, and I can feel my heart begin to race.
"I-I don't know who I am" I stutter.
Rose laughs to herself as I say it, but stops after a few moments. Her eyes widen and she stares at me, shocked. She looks around the room, and then back to me, and the realisation sets in for her too.
"Oh shit, you're serious."
