Chapter 14 - [It's Hard]

"Ashley, just do me this favor and handle it for me. I'm trusting you." Marla had stopped the court and went on leave. She was currently standing outside of the court room, and deciding rather to stay, or do the damage control later.

"Call me the moment this is over." She added shuffling her jacket on her body.

"Alright, and call me with the update." Ashley looked at her and watched her walk away. She had quite the case on her hands. And the opportunity to jump to the top.

"I cannot do this." Jasmine was sitting on the bench outside of the hospital. She wasn't worried or anything, she was just angry that her 'best friend' was keeping so many secrets from her. Sitting next to Edward she shook her leg.

"Jasmine, I know that Victoria loves you. I mean you've been friends for so long and that can't ever go away. Right now, it might be a little hard to take in, but, have you ever thought that she maybe didn't want to tell you?" He looked directly at her and she looked up. "I know, you can tell her anything and her too, but you know somethings that you tell anyone can change the way you view that person." He stopped.

Right before she was about to say something he stopped her.

"This is for all of the best friends in the world, you may not notice or know that the look you have of that person changes. Your viewpoint of them does in deed change, but you don't notice." He was finished.

"I just want a reason." Jasmine fiddled with her purse strap.

They both looked ahead of them. The wind blew a small breeze around, and the construction workers across the street were hammering something down.

"And you will get one, maybe later." It was silent.

"Or tomorrow." Edward put his hands in his pocket.

"Or next week." Looking out the corner of his eye, he saw Jasmine smile.

"Probably next month, or two years. You never know." He said laughing to.

"Thanks." Jasmine said leaning her head on his shoulder. Drew came around to the empty spot on the right of Jasmine. He sat down and she turned her head. Noticing it was him, she lifted her head and leaned on him. She grabbed his hands and cuffed them in hers.
Jasmine looked ahead at the Starbucks beside the new building being constructed. The doors opened, and Blaire came out strutting her hips. With her coffee in one hand, and her purse in the other, she looked both ways, and starting moving across the street.

"Look at that." Jasmine said studying her carefully.

Drew turned and looked at Jasmine.

"She's not afraid to show her sexy." Jasmine chuckled and watched her walk on the path leading to the doors of the hospital.

"I have to admit, it's played nicely." Jasmine had to say this.

"I hope that you know that I am going to be given an earful when I get home." Drew rapped his other arm around her.

"I think I know." She Said Getting More comfortable.

"Drew, if something happened to you that was like this, would you tell me?" She pulled her purse closer.

"Jasmine, I was taught to avoid answering trick questions." They both chuckled for a few seconds. She was mostly calming down, because her best friend is slowly breaking her heart. They've mostly been through everything together.

"What's their deal?" Jasmine blurted. Drew tilted his head towards Jasmine. 

"What do you mean?" Looked around.

"Who?" He added.

"Wait.. Later." Jasmine waited. Since Edward was her prime suspect, she began watching him slowly now. Everything had turned back to him directly now, so it was time to investigate his movings and motives. The tension between Drake and him, Victoria not wanting to be around him, and now this. Now in this situation she knows that he would help her the best he could and that's exactly what he did, but the weird thing is, he thought Victoria might be embarassed. Victoria is smarts, 100 percent smarts, so she would throw the knowledge of this, so something else was in play.

But first, Jasmine wanted to rule out Sebastian and Blaire, because something is weird about them two, but she's going to run it by Drew while Edward isn't around.
