As they headed inside they heard a rattle at the back fence, they both turned at the same time to see what it was but it was only the neighbours cat Trixie, who's owners had gone away on a holiday so she been feeding her for them. The house on the other side of her is free and so is the house at back. Cleo and Dante turned back toward the house with Rex at their hills. "Are you sure you don't want to leave Rex outside?" He looked at her. "What so you can do what you like with me? No thanks I prefer him to be inside with us." She looks at Rex as she continues "plus if there is something or someone out there, that he doesn't believe isn't meant to be out there he will charge outside" "Okay then have it your way, but like I said I'm not here to harm you in any way" "If it makes you happy, I'll send Rusty out. If anything or anyone is out there he will let me know" "fine but I don't think he's the dog for it. He did come running inside when I was out there" he said as the continue heading to the door. "He'll be fine, plus he only came running in because you shot Rex." "I still don't think he is up to it" "Trust me he's my dog and he will be okay"
When the got inside Cleo called for Rusty who a moment later came running into the kitchen and started barking at Dante. "Easy boy, he's alright at the moment. Rex is keeping an eye on him." With that Rusty looked around and spotted Rex sitting near by. "I need you to go out side and keep your eyes and ears out for anything out of the ordinary." She continued as she pointed towards the back door, he headed towards the back and out the doggy door he went. Lucy pulled her gun out and sat it out on the table as she looked at Dante and firmly said "that's sitting right here in front of me the whole time while you are in my house" Dante looked at her and said "You have trust issues" Cleo laughed "You expect me to trust you just like that, after you helped yourself into my back yard. Shot my dog and held a gun at me? Huh you got to be kidding. No way am I going to trust you in a hurry. Just count yourself lucky that you are in my house." Cleo took a deep breath and slowly let it out again. "I can see you don't let just any one in your house, then why let me?" "like I said out there you kept your word and I'm keeping mine. Now to finish keeping your word, why don't you start telling what you where doing in my back yard. Why and how you know my name"
"like I said out side My name is Dante and I'm not hear to harm you, but the rest my of clan is, it's kinda hard to explain to you but I will do my best" he looks a Cleo with a concern look. "I have came here to protect you from some of my kind who thinks you might be their answer to their problems..." "Wait you said your kind, what do you mean your kind? You say it like your not human." Lucy interrupted him "Yes I say it like that because I'm not, that's the tricky part to tell you and get you to believe me. So where should I start?" "Why don't start at the part where your 'Not' human" Dante looked at Cleo and he couldn't tell if she would believe him or not. "Alright then, first of all I'm not human I'm a Vampire. That's why i'm here at night and not during the day. Secondly there are other vampires and my clan let rephrase that, my old clan is out looking for you...." "your old clan? Out looking for me? Why?" "yes my old clan is out looking for you because the leader of the clan Rodney believe that you have a special blood that could solve their problems. I was ok with it until I found out what he wants to do with you and your blood and I'm not happy with that as you are just an innocent." Cleo was starting to feel sick but she doesn't know why but she is believing him. She looked at Dante in the light and she could see that he is paler then normal. "what does he want with me and my blood? I don't know why but I have a feeling that your telling the truth." "he wants to drain all your blood and then hung your body from a tree. And then he will mix your blood with a certain wine and drink it. I don't believe that's going to work so I'm here to stop them. I did extra research in my den on what they are after and that's when I put everything together and it led me to you, so here I am." "so what's so special about my blood?" "well when you were born you were under size and your bones where weak so your mother took you to see a friend on the way you both a crossed a lake and saw an angel fall from its grace, sadly your mother died from the site but some odd reason you lived and there is a rumour that the angel also gave you some of his blood....." Dante stoped as he looked at Cleo, she had the look of disbelief on her face. She doesn't know if she should believe it or not as she was told that her mother died while she was taking her for a walk on a could night too settle her down and a nice young man who happened to be walking past took her under his care while he looked for her family. She was with him two weeks when he finally found her dad, and happily handed her over. Until this day she has flashes of a face that looks familiar to her but she doesn't remember meeting him, she had always thought it was a memory of the guy. "I don't believe that one bit at all, my mother died on a walk and a nice man took me in until he found my dad" "yes that's the story they decided to go with as no one saw it but a vampire. Ok you don't believe me fine but its true I haven't lied to you yet so why would I start now?" He started to feel squeamish, he looked at Rex who was still sitting next him watching. He was about to continue when there was a knock on the door.
