The golden glow of the brilliant orange inferno flickered intensely in my eyes as it crept closer and its flames engulfed my body, I tried to utter a scream to no avail as there was no sound, only the crackling of the dancing embers as they lapped away at my flesh and devoured my skin, but oddly enough there was no pain only a soothing warmth as my blood boiled to a vapour while my body was being slowly consumed by the hungry flames. "Rrrrr" an animalistic growl broke free from the captivity of my mouth and shot through the silence, shattering my nightmare.
I snapped up from the covers panting hard, and looking around to see if I was really on fire, searching my body and bed frantically for any sign of flames. "Phew," I breathe a sigh of relief.
"That damn dream again". I looked over at my clock and "shit" I was late for school, I scurried out of bed took a shower and quickly got dressed, no time for breakfast, I ruffled my nappy black hair, then took a look in the mirror.
"Meh good enough". Then I was out the door and on my way, wow just starting college and I'm already late, sighs let's get this shit over with.I arrived at school just in time to hear the first session's bell, can't penalise me for being on time right? I took a seat at the back of the class far away from the other students this may be a new school and environment but I still really don't like people, especially the hassle of socialising with new ones plus unlike most people I actually like school so sitting at the back won't affect my performance one bit. To be fair though I'm not entirely a social cripple I have friends they're just not here yet, I think they get in next week or so, but for now I'm going completely solo.
"Hello and good morning everyone." Ah the teacher is here I guess that means class has officially started.
"Good morning Mr.Schnider." The class said in complete unison I almost had to stiffle a laugh at their cult like behaviour."Now we will be doing the introductions, seeing as it is the first morning. You already know me so it's time to get acquainted with your classmates starting with....um....you in the black hoodie," said Mr.Schnider as he pointed at me. Of course why not it's always the guy in the back so I stood up literally towering over the rest of the class in all my six foot four glory.
" My name is Naphro, I'm 19 and I enjoy extreme sports." Short and simple I thought, after me the rest of the introductions dragged on until I heard a familiar voice my head shot around and survey my surroundings only to rest my gaze where the most soothing voice I've ever heard came from. It was her! The girl I've had my eye on, even before I came to college I couldn't believe she was here, this class may be worth it after all. Also if you're wondering how I didn't see her when I walked in I have the innate skill to block out anything but my self, narcissistic, maybe, but hey it's effective. For the rest of the first period my mind was on nothing else but her, all I could think of was her adorable little frame, she was small yet curvy, her hair was straight and shiny, her lips a pale rosy pink and lastly her eyes those beautiful sparkly eyes just accentuated the beauty of her slender face all the more. I was in awe.
"Trrrinng". The bell sounded, ripping me out of fantasy land, it was time for the next period which was gym.I left class kind of disappointed because I wouldn't get to see her till later because she had a different elective, but I do enjoy some exercise, so I got changed and headed to the gym and to my dismay today's sport was.
"Sigh." Basketball. Normally I'm good at most sport but basket ball requires a lot of coordination which I simply don't have, but it was something I had to do. We did some warm ups, formed a small team and decided to have a scrimmage match, however as you can imagine I had no interest what so ever in playing so I just stood there zoning out still thinking of the fact that I saw her here today, I was getting so lost in thought, I could even hear her lovely voice again and then out of nowhere.
"Thump, thud". I took a basket ball to the face, after trying to recover from the shock accompanied by an irritating sting, I could see a dude with his hand over his mouth and a sorry expression on his face, he looked so pitiful, I decided it wasn't worth getting angry over I just asked the coach if I could leave and go take a shower. I made my way to the showers and wasted no time getting down to business because I wasn't about to be in here with a bunch of dudes so I quickly showered and got out with my towel only to be stopped dead in my tracks. It was her. She was in the boys wash room. She just stared at me with her lovely eyes seeming as though she could see straight through to my soul. I took a gulp and asked.
