"Where are we going?" the little girl complained as she rubbed my eyes. Her uncle's alert eyes scanned the surroundings as he gathered her brother and her together in the shadows.
"Now,now Miyuki, it is best to keep silent. You are aware of the current situation.." he said under his breath as he kept us close and began to creep again through the corridors."Of course uncle.." she huffed.
Outside the palace gates our guards and men were out battling, shouts of agony rang through the night, metal colliding with metal...blood danced in the air filling her nostrils. It was all too hypnotizing...yet their auras seemed despairing. She shivered as she was ushered through the underground basement, colliding with her brother on her way down.
Soft, choked sobs were heard beside her. Miyuki turned her head to see her twin brother's tear-stained cheeks slightly sniffling. She placed her hands on his tiny frame and brought in him, hugging him tight for a brief second before pulling away and taking his shivering hand.
"I'm scared too, Fuyuki... we're ok though because we're together! A long as we have each other we have nothing to be scared of!" she smiled brightly and held their clasped hands up.
Fuyuki's bottom lip quivered and wiped off his tears with his free hand. "Are-are you sure?" The boy was quite the pitying sight bundeled up in his matching red scarf as his sister's.
"Of course I am!" Miyuki exclaimed," I am the older twin so of course I'm sure!" she giggled and patted his shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile.
She hauled her brother with their scarves flying behind them, both running hand-in-hand beside their uncle as they made their way through the underground tunnel exit. Her young spirits should have been reflecting the situation, which inside it did, but she couldn't show fear she told herself. She had to be strong for her brother and for herself. This would be the last time she could be a kid...
