Qibli couldn't help but look at the egg on the other side of the room. His egg. He still was having trouble wrapping his head around the fact that he was a soon-to-be father. Him of all dragons.
Before he had gone to Jade Mountain, he had a very dull life. At the time it had seemed amazing, but back then he was comparing it to his life with Cobra and his siblings. His priorities were be the best Outclaw possible, be loyal to Queen Thorn and never go back to his family's house. But now, that list had tripled. Sure he still lived in the SandWing palace and was still an Outclaw, but he was also a husband. And an almost father. Moon had had a vision, and she claimed that the egg would hatch tonight. It was already twilight, and he was trembling with excitement.
Suddenly he heard footsteps, and Moon crept up behind him.
"Has it hatched yet?" she asked.
He jumped, before shaking his head absentmindedly.
Moon walked over to the egg. She picked it up and moved it into a shaft of dim light, from the moon. The black parts of the egg immediately turned silver.
This puzzled Qibli for a moment, before remembering how Moon got her powers. "Didn't you hate your powers?" he asked her.
She sighed. "I mean... I used to. I thought it was a curse. And Darkstalker wouldn't have been freed, but if you think about it, we all would have been dead if it weren't for them. Remember the history fire?"
Qibli shuddered, remembering the dead bodies of Carnelian and Bigtail, and the horrid stench of smoke, death and burnt scales. And the-
He was snapped out of his thoughts by a loud CRACK.
     "Look!" Moon whispered. "it's happening!"
Sure enough, there was a large crack in the middle of the egg. Then another, with another loud CRACK-CRACK-CRACK. Suddenly, the egg split into a thousand little pieces. Standing there, were two small dragonets. Moon and Qibli gasped. They expected only one dragonet.
One had the build of a SandWing, with jet black scales and pale yellow ones under her wings, along with some scattered here and there. She had a SandWing barb, and teardrop scales by her eyes. But the weird thing was, they were yellow. Not the normal silver color. She also had jade green eyes.
Qibli looked outside. Two full moons were out, so that meant that they should also have the ability to see the future.
Qibli turned his attention to the other one. He had the build of a NightWing with pale yellow scales but with the ruff of a SandWing, but the ruff was black. All of his horns were black fading into yellow, and he had black scales underneath his wings. He had black eyes, and the normal silver teardrop scales.
Qibli cracked a smile. They were perfect, Moon was perfect, and his life as an Outclaw was amazing.
     His life was finally complete.
