It's Monday afternoon at Chicago Med where Kate is on shift working on a patient. She had just finished putting stitches in her patient arm. "Ok. Mr.Law I want you to not use your arm too much because you can rip the stitches out and have to get new ones and we don't want that now Mr.Law." "No ma'am." 'All right, Nurse Maggie here is going to finish up, while I go get your paperwork." "Thank you Doctor." "Yep." Kate says walking out the trauma room. "Good afternoon Dr.White." says Brooke Wilson, one of Kate's bestfriends since the first day Kate started. "Good afternoon Dr. Wilson. How is it going?" "It's going good." "Good afternoon Doctors." "Hey Dr.Halstead." They both say. "Dr. Wilson it's Ms.Jackson." Nurse Hat says running out of the trauma room. "I'll be back." Brooke yells running to the trauma room. "I'll be back. I just need to discharged my patient." "All right." Will says smiling at his best friend leaves."You like her don't you." says a voice behind him. He turns around and it turns out to be his ex.Natalie Manning, an ER doctor that works with him. "No, I don't her best friend." "Whatever you say William." She says laughing "How are you and Cassie doing." "We're doing great." "That's good." "Hey Nat." Kate says coming back from discharging her patient." Hey Kate." she says back. "PD in the house!" Maggie yells. "Dr.White, Dr.Rhodes! You're up!" "What do we have!" Dr.Connor Rhodes yells as the paramedics walk in with an officer shot. "Detective Halstead, 26 year old, shot in the shoulder has been losing lots of blood since we arrived on scene. Bp 80/60,SATs 90 pulse is at 138 and dropping." One of the paramedic says. "Will it's your sister in-law!" Kate yells at her best friend. "What happened?!" Will yells back. "I-I don't know what happened. We were on the roof talking and a few minutes passed and next I knew she was on the floor bleeding out." Jay is scared for his wife and mother of his child. "I ju-just look away for 1 minute." "Looks like a thought and thought but the bullet must have hit an artery. That may be the reason she is bleeding out." Connor says. "Maggie called up to the OR. Let them know we are on our way up right NOW!" Connor and Kate both take Elle up to the OR but before Kate can continue to follow up Will stops her by putting a hand on her wrist and says "Please take care of her." "I will." Kate says looking at Will, Jay ,Gracelynn and Hank in the eyes. "She is my best friend. I will do anything for her like she will." She says before running up to the OR floor to help Connor. Two hours later Kate and Connor walk to the waiting room where the Intelligence Unit is waiting for her news. Jay sees them walking over, which he immediately stands up along with the rest of the team. "How is she?'' "She's fine. We were able to fix the artery where the bullet hit. We have her on blood transfusion and pain meds. But other than that she is going to make a full recovery. "Thank you so much." Jay and Hank say at the same time. Then shakes the doctors hands. "You can go in and see her." Kate says. "She is on the 5th floor to your right room 1412." "Thank you Kate and Connor." It's our job to save people's lives." Connor says. "Hey Kate. How's Elle?" Will says after she sees his best friend walk back to the ER. "She is doing good. We got the bleeding to stop. She is on blood transfusions and pain meds, but other than that she is going to make a full recovery." "That's good. Thank you." Will says pulling his best friend into a hug. "Like we told your brother and his team "It's our job to save people's lives.'' She says hugging will back. They pull back and we say, "Your right it's our to save-" before Will can finish his sentence. Maggie yells "Dr.Halstead, Dr.Wilson." "I'll be back." he says before running to save lives. "Omg." Kate hears Brooke say out loud. "KATE!!" Both Will and Brooke yell at their best friend. "What do you need?" She stops when she sees who's on the bed. It Turns out to be.......
