Arid held his bags in his hands. His parents had just kicked him out with an invitation to jade mountain. It all went so quickly. His father went for the mail, his parents read the mail, and then quickly packed some bags, shoved Arid out the door with the bags and the invitation.
Arid was furious. He knew his parents hated him, but not enough to kick him out the first chance they got. Arid was special... in a different way. He had an odd power. One nobody else had. It was a secret though. Nobody knew but Arid and his best friend, a mind reader and future seer, Secret. Secret finder was his real name though.
Secret met Arid at the normal time in the middle of the newest dragon city, Innoble. Arid lived in this town with Secret next door. This place was special to Arid. But not that special he couldn't leave. Secret held up an invitation excitedly. "Isn't this exciting?!?" Secret asked as his tail swung around. 'No. Not at all.' Arid thought. "Yeah!" He shouted sarcastically. Apparently secret didn't get the 'sarcastic' vibe, though.
"Great! Let's get going so that we can meet our winglets in person." Secret shouted. Arid covered his ears and nodded. He looked at the lists and found his name. 'Diamond Winglet- Arid-Sandwing, SecretFinder-Nightwing, Kelp-Seawing Prince, Spectral-Rainwing, Marsh-Mudwing, Sunstone-Skywing, Icecap-Icewing.'
Arid looked around and saw an icewing, Rainwing, and Skywing talking. "Oh! That looks like our winglet!" Secret said pointing to their winglet. "I know. I already looked." Arid said. Arid saw the icewing walking toward them nervously. "H-hi..." the icewing said. "I'm Icecap." She said. "Oh! Your in our winglet!" Secret shouted. "I'm Arid. That's Secret." Arid said trying to ignore Secret.
IceCap looked at them innocently. "I should tell you my power then." Arid said quietly. He didn't know what he was doing, but didn't want to be like Moonwatcher, the legend. "I can control..." he started but then Secret paused. "Why are you telling her? You don't even know if she could be trusted!" Secret blurted. Icecap stepped back in surprise. "You can trust me!" She yelled. "We know! Secret can read minds and see the future, and sometimes just thinks of a random picture and thinks it's a prophecy!" Arid blurted to stop the fight coming.
Icecap nodded. Secret did, too. "Like I was saying. I can control..." Arid stopped as Icecap looked at him with curious, ice cold eyes. She didn't have the angry tone of many icewings. She looked harmless and curious. Nothing could go wrong. Except that he may lose a friend. "You can...?" Icecap said, startling Arid. "I can control fire!" He blurted. Suddenly all the torches got brighter.
Icecap stopped, startled. She didn't expect this. 'It's not like she would expect anything else.' He thought. 'Maybe that I'm an animus? Like all tragic animus stories?' He thought. Secret tapped her as Arid looked away. "He doesn't burn anyone though." Secret said firmly. "Or I wouldn't be here, because somebody is always saying that I talk to much." Secret glances at Arid and smiled a wide smiled.
Arid topped his eyes sarcastically. "But really, he does." Arid whispered to Icecap. Icecap giggled. "I HEARD THAT!" Secret yelped. They all laughed. Soon enough they were at the entrance to jade mountain. 'I hope this does not go wrong. Bad things can happen.' Arid thought. He stepped inside with a map of the caves. Suddenly a big crash sound was heard.
crash
Crash
CRASH!
It went like that. A little smashing noise, to a giant crash.
