Marlee Jathurapoom was driving with Forth on the passenger seat, to the location of Arthit's schedule to pick him up. So far Forth has not asked why they were picking up Arthit from his schedule. After all it is not unnatural for Marlee to take the two boys out for a meal once in a while.
But today Marlee had much to tell Forth before they picked up Arthit. She knew that she could trust Forth to take care of Arthit.
'Forth before we pick up Arthit, there is something I need to tell you.' Marlees voice was unusually serious and made Forth give her his full attention.
'What is it mom?' He asked.
'You know Kongpob Suthilak right?' Marlee opened.
'Mom, you know I know Kongpob Suthilak and I know you know that he's Arthit's boyfriend. So Let's get to the point.' Forth said almost impatiently.
'Of course, of course. Straight to the point. Good I like it.' Marlee said.
'So the point is?' Forth asked when his mother hasn't spoken for sometime.
'Oh yes the point. Umm... So... Kongpob had an accident. He's badly injured, paralysed from waste down. We are taking Arthit to see him and Arthit doesn't know anything yet.' Marlee said in one breath.
'WHAT? Forth shouted making Marlee almost loose control of the vehicle. She swore at her son.
'What the hell Forth!? We almost crashed!' She yelled at her son.
'That's not important right now. Are you telling me that P'Kongpob is paralyzed? As in he'll never walk again?' Forth asked horrified.
'Well, not forever. Just for now. He'll have to go through rehabilitation and he'll walk again someday. At least according to the doctor.' Marlee said.
'Oh my God!' Forth said slumping back in his seat. Marlee nodded her head with a serious expression. Few minutes passed with absolute silence between the mother and son. Marlee understood that Forth may need time to digest this news.
'OH MY GOD!' Forth exclaimed loudly making Marlee startled and almost swerve, again. This time, however, she was mad enough to smack her son.
'What the hell is wrong with you boy? This is the second time I almost caused an accident because of you.' Marlee yelled.
'That's not the point mom! P'Kongpob is paralyzed!' Forth exclaimed.
'And you think that is a good reason to cause a traffic accident?' Marlee yelled at Forth again.
'No mom! Don't you get it? Arthit's boyfriend is paralyzed!' Forth sounded desperate. Marlee was quiet for a moment.
'I know Forth. That is why we are going to be there for him. As his family.' Marlee said, looking at her son, her voice serious. Forth met his mother's eyes and a silent look passed between the two. Forth nodded determinedly. He'd promised P'Kongpob that he'd protect Arthit, so that's what he'll do.
*****
Arthit was none the wise when Marlee picked him up and drove him towards the Brumrungrad Int. Hospital. He was a little surprised to know that Marlee and Forth was picking him up to visit Apsara. But since he knew that Apsara and Marlee were friends, he didn't think much of it. He chatted happily with his aunt and Forth about his debut as a solo artist and how different the experience had been as compared to promoting as a band. He also talked about the series of concerts that will take place starting from next month where he'd be touring to, about 20, different locations around the world. It wasn't going to be a world tour per say, just few locations with many of his fans to promote as a solo artist.
