Jonah was never alone. Everywhere he went he always had someone with him; a friend, a colleague, a family member, always. It made it extremely hard for Nicole to get close. She felt so desperate to be near him and it would be so easy -him being oblivious as he was- if it weren't for the fact that he was always always surrounded by people.

She knew that they would catch on. He wouldn't but they would. Despite his outwardly intelligent appearance, after carefully watching it was clear that Jonah wasn't the sharpest. He wasn't stupid. Of course, he wasn't stupid, at least never in Nicole's eyes. But he wasn't exactly smart either. He tended to be oblivious to just about everything around him and oftentimes his friends would have to point things out for him. Like poles in the way of the sidewalk, he was walking on just before he slammed face-first into one. So, of course, it would be almost sickeningly easy to follow him, maybe just a few feet behind, without him batting an eye. But his friends. His annoyingly smart, overprotective friends always got in her way. They pointed out every little thing around them at all times. Gossiping about pointless things and people watching an unhealthy amount. So all Nicole could ever do was keep her distance. And keeping your distance when you are completely infatuated with someone feels like pure torture.

And it was, more or less.

But there were times where she didn't have to keep her distance. Nicole had made it a routine to work out every day right next to the cafe that Jonah worked out, so after her strategically timed workout she could go enjoy a cup of coffee, scone, and a nice long gaze at her beloved Jonah.

And due to it being a cafe and all, eyes are almost always on the barista, watching as they make coffee and waiting patiently for your drink to be done. So Jonah would never feel her prying eyes on him, taking in his every movement, and drinking in the stretch of his muscles as he moved about doing his job.

But she could never stay long. Eventually, her coffee would grow cold, the sky dark, and the workers impatient to finally get off their shift and go home. So when the time would come, she'd chug the remains of her drink, hop in her car, and drive home back to her house in wait of the next day when she could finally see Jonah again.

Nicole hated being home. It felt empty and cold. Above all her home felt lonely. She longed to share it with someone else, more specifically she longed to share it with Jonah. But due to the fact that she was yet to have Jonah, she could only wallow in the vastness of her own home. A one-story house with a simple build, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, garage, and basement. The all American dream home. If you could even consider something so sad a home. Nichole wasted no time cleaning up and getting in bed to find her computer and do some searching. She'd already found his Instagram and Twitter easily but she was looking for things much more personal. Possible dating site accounts and the other likes. She needed to know more about him than just his favorite places to eat and when he takes his dog for a walk (although it was nice to know the path he takes with his dog).

She'd made previous attempts to follow him on this regular occurrence but to no avail for 1) exercise wasn't her strong suit and 2) the trail was in a more or less secluded area so even the aloof Jonah would notice her following him. But the walks didn't matter. Nothing mattered if he would never know who she was. So she had to make a choice.

Her eyes skimmed over her computer as she contemplated what she was about to do. She needed a list

Pros and Cons of messaging Jonah on Insta:

Wait. no scratch that she didn't even follow him yet. The first thing she needed to do was make herself known to him.

And now it was too late to take it back. She was officially following his Instagram account. Oh god, she was following his Instagram account this could go so wrong so fast. What if he recognized her. What if his friends were on his phone and found her account and recognized her. What if he blocked her and she could no longer look at his account? So many possible things could go wrong. Oh god, this was a huge mistake she never should have followed him a-

Follow request. More specifically a follow request from Jonah. Nicole put her phone down and looked up at her ceiling. Her eyes darted back and forth as she tried to calm her breath and her racing heart all at once.

"I can't deal with this right now oh my god this is all too much I should just..." She sighed and flipped over. Turning her light off and looking back up at the ceiling. Waiting for sleep to take her and her mind off to a calm and peaceful place. She'd deal with this new problem in the morning. But right now all that mattered was getting some rest.
