Being a committee of prom means working day in and day out in order to have the perfect night. Me working at administration means everything has to go through me and I am responsible for any mistakes. Good thing I had my high school crush Zach as head show runner, or else I wouldn't have made through all the dreadful meetings.

It is the night of the main event, I am in my suit, panting across the auditorium, only to realise that my tie is not on and my outfit is messed up.
I hid myself at the backstage area behind the reception, looking myself at the mirror while trying to tidy myself up.
'Hey man, the show's about to start,' Zach said walking in, 'why aren't you ready?'
'I - can't tie a tie,' I answered, catching my breath.
'You've got to be kidding me!' Zach chuckled, 'a 16 year old who can't tie a tie?'
'17...' I mumbled.
'Here hand me that,' Zach said, trying to hold in his laughter.

He took my pink and blue striped tie and adjusted it on his neck, I blushed as I stared at his delicate fingers dancing across the tie, making a sophisticated knot.
He loosened the tie just so it could go over his head, 'here try it on,' he handed me the tie.
'Which way is the front again?' I asked. I really should learn to tie my own tie.
'Let me put it on for you,' he said as he placed the tie on my collar like a medal on an athlete.
He then walked behind me and adjusted the tie with the reflection of the mirror.
A scent of his cologne hit my nose, and every second I start to feel my throat tightening and my mouth getting dry.
'There you go,' he said as he turned back to me.
'Uh, um thanks,' I cleared my throat.

'You look great'

I stared into his hazel-brown eyes and his rosy red cheeks. Time seems to went still.

'...so, you got a date to the dance?' He asked.
'No, I was so busy with the planning I don't even got the chance to ask anyone out,' I answered with embarrassment. Using work to cover up your sad dating life? classic.

'And you?'
'No.... And I got cameraman duty later, guess I'm not dancing with anyone tonight,' Zach sighed.

We stared at each other once again,

'Do you want to go to the dance with me?'
Why, why did that come out of my mouth?
I panicked, crossing my fingers that shooting a shot with my high school crush was worth it.
'I would love to,' he answered as he gave a peck on my cheek.

I promptly cupped his blushed cheeks and went for a kiss, he kissed back passionately and it quickly escalated into a romantic make out session.

'Hey guys there you are the show's about to woah-' Corbyn stumbled in breaking our kiss.
'Let's get this show on the road,' Zach said, lending me his hand.
'Definitely,' I chuckled as we walked out of the room, and our hands interlaced with each other.
