I felt his lips connect with mine as he held my hands in his larger ones.
A minute passed and we parted our lips so we could breath once more. "You taste so lovely." He said, his sharp teeth showing in a smug smile. "I thought you couldn't taste anything?" I replied, my cheeks enveloped by a red blush. He chuckles, "I suppose. . . You're the only thing I was meant to taste.~" The sentence sticks in my brain as if it were a fried egg on a sidewalk. "You really are my one and only. . . Melon." I say to the gazelle-cheetah hybrid as he lets go of my hands and wraps his arms around me.
I return the gesture and he whispers, "I'm glad to be yours and I'm glad that you are mine." He smiles, a genuine, non-psychotic smile. I smiled as well, glad our final moments will be spent with each other before we take our final bow on life's stage. "Are you ready to go?" He asks, releasing our hug to reach for a pair of handcuffs. "As ready as I'll ever be. . . Honey." Melon puts one end of the handcuffs on himself, then I put the other end on my own wrist. We both walk up the stairs to the roof, the police sirens around the building acting as our wedding bells. We hold each other's cuffed hands and walk onto the ledge of the building. "We'll probably both be separated in the afterlife my sweet." Melon says, the police helicopter's spotlight landing on us. "If we are separated, I'm sure we'll find each other soon." I smile up at my lover, getting a smile out of him as a response.
All it took was one step from the both of us, we were both falling. Falling off of the tallest building in all of Tokyo. We loved each other, and if society said it was wrong, then we didn't want to be right. He gave up his life of crime for me. We simply smiled at each other, embracing our fates. I loved Melon and he loved me back. We were different. We embraced each other. We would always love each other. When we hit the ground, I didn't feel anything except my love for Melon. Then, a white light filled my vision. The light fades, I smiled, noticing that I was in a field of flowers, I turn my head to the left and smile wider. Melon was right next to me, our fingers knitting out hands together. He opens his eyes and smiles when his gaze meets mine. We were dead, but as long as we were together, it was like we were still alive. And there's no one I'd rather spend eternity with, than Melon. . .
