Note: Hi. This is my first ever post. Give me a break if it is a bit...inconsistent,please?
This takes place during/after Putting Others first.
Patton sunk into the Mindpalace, reappearing in the living room. Logan sat on the couch with his laptop. Virgil was sitting on the couch with his headphones on. When the fatherly side appeared, Logan looked up. "Is everything alright, Patton?"he asked. Patton winced."No...not quite, kiddo." Logan got up and set a hand on Patton's shoulder. "Do you need me to help with Deceit?" Patton shrank away from the touch. "Is Roman in his room?" he asked. "Is he not with the others?" Logan asked. Patton shook his head."Then it is safe to assume that he is in his room," Logan concluded.
Virgil took off his headphones, saying "Oh no. Deceit's out there isn't he? Thomas is in danger I need to get out there.." The fight or flight reflex got up and started to panic. "No need, kiddo. We cleared everything up. Jan-Deceit! is not going to hurt anyone." Virgil began breathing quickly. "But..."
Logan intervened. "Five things you can see." This illustration was now a regular practice in the Mindscape, seeing as Virgil needed it pretty often. "Uhh...you, Patton, the wall, your computer, the coffee table," Virgil said. Logan took Virgil's hand and lead him to the couch. Patton went to sit with them. "Four things you can hear," Logan continued. "Your voice, my breathing, my headphones, sobbing," Virgil breathed deeply. "Sobbing?" Patton asked. "Yes. Oh," Virgil said as realization hit him.
Patton stood up quickly. "You two continue. I'm going to check on Roman," he said. He rushed upstairs. A hall of doors met his eyes. The closest was an indigo on the left. It led to the room of Logic. Farther down that wall was a sky blue door. This one lead to the room of Morality. Across from Patton's door was a violet door. That lead to the room of Anxiety. His eyes fell on a cherry red door across from Logan's. He fully intended on going through that door, which lead to the room of PG Creativity.
Cautiously, Patton went and knocked on the door. "Roman?" He asked gently. Hitching sobs were the only response. They tugged on Patton's heart like a fishing line. "Kiddo, can I come in?"Roman spoke from the inside. "If I say no, will you come in anyway?" Patton sighed, "That is exactly it. I'm coming in." Patton slowly opened the door and entered.
Roman was on his bed, hugging a pillow between his knees and his chest. "What is it, Patt?" he asked. "Roman, are you okay?" Patton asked softly. Roman snapped. "Let's see. My upbringing has been a lie, I'm screwing up Thomas's mental health, my boyfriends must think I'm a piece of shit, and I am apparently so similar to my brother that we might as well be a singular Creativity!" he said as he broke down into a fresh wave, tsunami, rather, of sobs.
Patton rushed to his boyfriend's side and wrapped his arms around him lovingly. "Hey, hey, hey, hey. Ssh, ssh, ssh. It's okay. I'm here." Roman came partway out of his little ball to throw his arms around Patton, burying his face in his chest. Patton carded his fingers through Roman's hair. "I'm here. Let it out. Ssh. It's okay, love." Roman sobbed, soaking the front of Patton's shirt. Patton couldn't care less about the snot, though. Just because Thomas had to be a little selfish in the real world, didn't mean Patton had to in the Mindscape.
After about half an hour of Roman sobbing into his moral boyfriend's chest, he pulled away and conjured a box of tissues. Taking one to blow his nose, Roman said, "I'm sorry." As he blew, he made a noise that resembled the call of a proboscis monkey. "What do you have to be sorry for?" Patton asked calmly as he took another tissue to wipe Roman's tears. Roman's eyes were as red as his sash and as puffy as his pillows. "For not being g-good en-enough," Roman said through hiccups. "What?" Patton breathed, "Dear, that is very untrue."
